Diego Forlan in Talks with Inter Milan About a Move from Atletico Madrid
With Samuel Eto'o set to leave officially in the coming days, Inter Milan will be on the hunt for a replacement for the Cameroonian. It would seem that they have found their man, Atletico Madrid's Diego Forlan. According to the Uruguayan's father, Forlan is in talks with the Italian club.
According to Goal.com the 32-year-old forward will serve as the perfect replacement for Anzhi-bound Eto'o. In an interview with 1410 AM Libre, Forlan's father alluded to the fact that Forlan may indeed be on the way out from Atletico. In the interview, Forlan's father said, "I would like him to go to Inter because they are a great team." His representative is negotiating him in Milan and Diego is waiting, anxious that it will be solved."

Forlan's father also suggested that perhaps Atletico Madrid do not treat their star players well enough to convince them to stay, suggesting the reason Aguero willingly left for Manchester City: "Atletico should coddle their stars a little more, they did not do that with Sergio Aguero [who joined Manchester City this summer), and they aren’t doing it with Diego, who has given his all for this team and now he is not happy."
It is expected that Inter will receive a substantial transfer figure from the sale of Eto'o. In an alternate Goal.com report it is suggested that the sale will bring in roughly €22 million, much of which will be put towards the purchase of Forlan. With Sneijder remaining at Inter Milan, expect a formidable attack at Inter, as they bid to regain the title lost to Milan last season.
