College Football's Week 12 ATS Picks
By Nostradamus.
As dreadful as my selections were last week, I somehow finished with a 5-6 number ATS. For the season, that puts me at 67-55-3. Again, not great, and much need for improvement.
Time to shake the Magic 8 Ball and Crystal Ball and see what comes out...
Thursday
Virginia Tech @ Miami (- 4 1/2)
I have been stumbling greatly on Thursday nights as of late. Nevertheless, it still won't change my thoughts on the games at hand. Sometimes you just take your lumps and move on.
This contest pits two teams with identical 3-2 conference records and 6-3 overall records. These two pretty solid teams sport solid defenses with some suspect offenses.
I have to believe the four-game win streak that Miami is currently enjoying, and the bye that Virginia Tech did not get in this matchup, should be a huge factor in this contest. Virginia Tech is usually lights out on Thursday nights, but I'll make a stance and say not this time and side with the home team.
Lay the 4 1/2 and take Miami in yet another tough and hard-fought ACC battle.
Miami 22, Virginia Tech 13
Friday
Cincinnati @ Louisville (+ 3 1/2)
I'll be honest—I have lost a fair penny wagering against Cincy...this year. They are MUCH MUCH better than I ever thought they would be.
In a reverse psychotic kind of way, I'm going to go against what I deem to believe an easy line for Cincy to cover and side with a 'Ville squad that has lost to Syracuse. WOW! In a sorry money-line play, I'll take Louisville straight up for the victory.
Louisville 37, Cincy 34
Saturday
North Carolina @ Maryland (+3)
Maryland plays well at home. UNC doesn't play all that well on the road. As much as I like this UNC squad, I have to side with the home team in the upset to really throw a wrench into the ACC, yet again.
Maryland 23, UNC 20
