Ohio State Football: What If Terrelle Pryor Had Stayed in Columbus for 2011?
This chapter of the Terrelle Pryor situation seems to be coming to a close with Roger Goodell's ridiculous decision to suspend him for five games this upcoming NFL season.
Now Pryor must begin an accelerated process of pro-days and private workouts for any team remotely interested in his services.
At this point, he can't be sure of where he'll be selected in the supplemental draft. The five-game suspension really shouldn't matter, as Pryor is likely a year or more away from being ready to contribute as an NFL quarterback.
It's just another decision in the long line of head-scratchers from Prime Minister Goodell.
Now the NFL is firmly in the sights of Team Pryor. I have followed Pryor's career since he was a junior in high school, and I'm happy he'll get an opportunity to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL. No bad decision regarding tattoos and trucks at the age of 21 or younger should rob a young man of his dreams.
All this got me thinking, what would've happened this year in Columbus had Pryor not been suspended? I conducted a simulation on EA Sports NCAA Football 12 to see what result the computer would give me.
I found it realistic, so I put this video together.
The great thing is that Pryor isn't this super-human QB in the game; he has the qualities and shortcomings he has in real life.
It will be tough for him to play QB in the NFL before 2014, so whoever selects Pryor will hopefully understand that. If he has decided he wants to play QB, he must resist the overtures to turn him into a slash type of player. We will see what happens.
The video includes highlights from the following simulated matchups:
- Miami, FL
- Michigan St
- Nebraska
- Wisconsin
- Michigan
Of course the game doesn't ship with the named rosters; this hard work is courtesy of one Patrick Morty, and you can download his rosters from the EA Roster share option in the menu.
Check it out, hope you enjoy it.
