Arsenal Transfer Rumors: Eboue Gone, Nasri Speaks, Hazard Bid and Ayew Denied
The new era of Arsenal football has began at the Emirates. Their former captain Cesc Fabregas returned home like the prodigal son to his home club Barcelona over the weekend, ending a tiresome transfer saga between the two clubs.
Arsenal was required to move forward quickly with the UEFA Champions League Playoff Round against the Italian side Udinese Tuesday evening. The Gunners clung to a 1-0 win, but made it clear they needed fresh blood and quality injected into the squad.
Arsene Wenger has claimed all summer that he is “not frightened to spend money," but thus far has made only one noteworthy signing for the squad in winger Gervinho from Ligue 1.
The club has also brought in young, bright talents into the fold as well. Carl Jenkinson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joel Campbell were all signed over the summer, but none of the three are expected to make an instant impact, which is what this club needs.
Arsenal fans have voiced their displeasure with the boss chanting an expletive filled demand to “spend some (expletive) money” during the first Premier League match away at Newcastle.
The collapse at the end of the season that saw the Gunners fall from being in all four fronts in February quickly diminished. Sliding from contention at the top of the table to a fourth-place finish has left supporters clamoring for a spine within the squad.
A center back to play alongside Thomas Vermaelen in the back, a cold-blooded goal scorer to play along side Robin Van Persie up top and a top quality replacement Fabregas (and possibly Nasri) in the middle of the park.
As players are needed in the squad, other players currently in the squad have finalized or are finishing a move out of North London.

Emmanuel Eboue
1 of 4Ivory Coast international Emmanuel Eboue has made the switch to the Turkish club Galatasaray. Arsenal has confirmed the move on their website. The 28-year-old player featured in 214 appearances for the Gunners, 132 of which were Premier League appearances since his arrival in 2005.
Eboue played in both defensive and midfield positions in a versatile role for the club. Galatasaray has agreed to a €3.5m four-year contract with the Ivory Coast international, according the Guardian. The step down in stature of the clubs indicates that Arsenal had opened the door for Eboue to explore other options.
Eboue’s departure from Arsenal adds to the departure list of: Gael Clichy, Denilson and Cesc Fabregas from the North London club already this summer. Samir Nasri, Nicklas Bendtner and Manuel Almunia have all been tipped to leave the club as well before the transfer window.
Samir Nasri
2 of 4The French midfielder Samir Nasri has been linked with a move from North London to Manchester throughout the summer. He has yet to play in either of Arsenal’s first two fixtures of the season. The midfielder has yet to agree to terms with Arsenal on a new contract as he enters the final year of his current deal.
Nasri has been linked with big money moves to both Manchester clubs. Manchester City has been more direct than coy about their interests in the Arsenal midfielder. The oil-rich club has reportedly made an offer of £22m to Arsenal for a move to Manchester City.
Wenger has added his stance on the subject as well.
The midfielder has made headlines this week, but not for a move to northern England. Nasri has lashed out against Arsenal supporters’ chants at the away match versus Newcastle last Saturday over his twitter account stating:
"
“I was very disappointed by the supporters at the match on Saturday.”
"
Reportedly the midfielder claimed on his Facebook account,
"
“It’s nearly done...I will leave with bitterness and anger in my heart. I am proud for having played with the Gunners…
I have been very disappointed by the supporters last weekend. I am still an Arsenal player but I will leave very soon.”
"
Nasri later refuted the Facebook proclimations on his twitter account claiming,
"
"Just to make things clear, I don't have a Facebook so i never said i was leaving with bitterness the guy who said that use a fake account.
"
All the back and forth nonsense between supporters and player show the distaste in which his contract negotiations, or lack there of, have been perceived by the Arsenal faithful. If Nasri does not bolt for a larger paycheck in Manchester it would be a big surprise to many.
Eden Hazard
3 of 4There has been no doubt that Arsenal lacked any kind of offensive bite during their first two fixtures of the season. Some of this is contributed to the early season feeling period players go through, but there was clearly a lack of spark in the final third for the Gunners over the past four days.
Eden Hazard has been linked with the Gunners throughout the summer. The Belgian dynamo helped Lille win the Ligue 1 crown last season alongside former teammate Gervinho, who now resides in North London.
Hazard has been perceived as the Messi-Ronaldo hybrid. His dazzling footwork, blazing pace and impeccable balance have drawn these comparisons at the fruitful age of 20 years old.
Wenger has stated more than once that he is not afraid to spend money, but wants quality players that will improve his squad rather than just any good player available.
With cash already available and the addition of new funds into the pot from the Fabregas transfer, there will be no excuse for the Arsenal boss to not spend money to bring in talent to the squad.
Arsenal is reportedly lining up a £28m bid for the Ligue 1 winger according to the International Business Times. The £28m would shatter the current Arsenal transfer record for the winger. If Nasri leaves for the greener side of England, expect Arsenal to make a hard push for this budding star.
Andre Ayew
4 of 4The Ghana international has been linked with a move from Ligue 1 side Marseille to the Emirates. Wenger loves to tap into the French market and has already done so once this summer.
Andre Ayew, who has been a productive forward for the Marseille side, did not rule out a move to the Gunners. When asked about the possibility of a move away from the Ligue 1 side Ayew’s response was,
"
“Why not? You know in football there is no certainty.”
"
The Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has changed his tune about the possibility of the deal over the past few weeks.
"
"Andre Ayew is not for sale,''
"
Anigo added.
"
''There is certainly a clause [in his contract] but the clause has a time limit, which has expired. If you want to buy, you pay a different price than that set at the start. Andre Ayew has a long way to go for us.”
"
The original clause that had been installed into Ayew’s contract had been a reported £11.5 million release clause, a price that could easily be met by Arsenal. Although Anigo claims the clause has passed the two sides and could easily come to terms, no transfer deal is easy nor done in a timely fashion with Arsene Wenger.
