Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Luka Modric Offer to Include Players Plus Cash
Chelsea are prepared to offer both forward Salomon Kalou and midfielder Yossi Benayoun to Tottenham in a player-plus-cash deal for Luka Modric, according to the Express.co.uk.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich made clear his interest in the Spurs midfielder at the start of the transfer window, making a £22 million bid for Modric last month, which fueled speculation over the Croation midfielder's future at White Hart Lane.
Another bid of £27 million was rejected recently, with Harry Redknapp stating that even a bid of over £30 million may not tempt Spurs to sell the midfielder.

Abramovich, rebuffed twice now in his attempts to land Modric, is reportedly ready to offer around £27 million in cash, as well as the two players in a package worth more than £35 million.
It seems Redknapp is already plotting how he will spend the money if Spurs are forced to relent on their tough stance, with just two weeks of the transfer window remaining.
Redknapp has this week been taking opinions from trusted allies on West Ham midfielder Scott Parker’s character and how he might fit into his side. The Hammers have demanded £8 million for the 30-year-old, but Spurs are confident that figure will tumble as the transfer window draws to a close.
Modric remains desperate to make the switch to Stamford Bridge and is unlikely to be in Tottenham’s Europa League squad to face Scottish club Hearts tomorrow night.
Chelsea are reluctant to go over £30 million in a straight cash bid for Modric, but will use players if necessary to clinch the deal. The Blues are also still looking for a wide man and are moving closer to a deal for Genk’s Belgian international Kevin de Bruyne.
