English Premier League: 5 of the Best This Week

James KentJun 7, 2018

An exciting opening week in the Premier League that included big wins for Manchester City and Bolton. Important results for Manchester United and Wolves, but Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were all held to draws.

Out of all the games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, which goals were the most memorable and deserve their place in a five of the best slide show? Well here are five that I enjoyed and hope you all enjoy watching them again.

Honorable Mentions/selection

1 of 6

I didn't feel that there were any close runners for the list. Yes, there were a few decent goals but nothing more that I would consider stunning.

The selection was simply a matter of stunning individual goals, therefore any goal that could be considered a good team goal hasn't been considered.

5. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Against WBA

2 of 6

Superb and precise finish by Wayne Rooney to put Manchester United into the lead.

4. Steven Ward (Wolves) Against Blackburn

3 of 6

Pressure from Wolves eventually paid off with this accurate finish.

This was the fourth a final goal from Manchester City against Swansea and the best goal of the match by a distance.

2. Sebastian Larsson (Sunderland) Against Liverpool

5 of 6

A quite superb finish from the Swede.

1. Gary Cahill (Bolton) Against QPR

6 of 6

Gary Cahill shows QPR the sort of quality they will be up against this season.
