NBA Offseason Summer League Video Highlight Reels: Who Had Sickest Performance?

Ethan NorofMay 31, 2018

The NBA lockout has forced Kevin Durant, John Wall, Brandon Jennings and other NBA stars to take their talents to summer leagues and exhibitions thus far in the offseason.

With the players seeking to stay in shape and being barred from their teams due to the work stoppage, many have explored and taken advantage of the opportunity to put on a show for a multitude of fans.

There have been a lot of exciting moments and an impressive number of mixtapes from different hoop outlets, but these 14 stand a cut above the rest.

14. Kobe Bryant, Manila

1 of 14

Bryant didn't need to do much to impress his fans in the Philippines, but he threw the gear back into a retro drive in this highly anticipated exhibition.

Fresh off of a PRP-like surgery to stabilize his knee and extend his playing career, Bryant reminded everyone that he's still got some athleticism left in the tank.

13. John Wall, North Carolina Pro-Am

2 of 14

When Wall went to North Carolina, most were expecting an impressive performance.

But he did much more than just that.

Wall dominated his competition, flashing elite athleticism, handles and showing an improved mid-range game to boot.

12. LeBron James, Cleveland Summer League

3 of 14

Predictably, LeBron returned to his old stomping grounds and saw a fair number of boo's from the crowd as a result.

Despite a welcome that was less than warm, James asserted himself far ahead of the competition, knocking down jumper after jumper, looking like he hasn't taken too many days away from the gym thus far in the offseason.

11. George Hill, Indiana Pro-Am

4 of 14

After Hill was dealt to the Pacers as on draft day, he made sure not to waste any time in his welcome home by participating in an Indy Pro-Am.

The combo guard dropped 50 big points and showed that the Pacers have something to be excited about in the future moving forward with a backcourt that now includes Hill.

10. DeMar DeRozan, Drew League

5 of 14

In addition to growing out a throwback Kobe Bryant afro, DeRozan has also spent time working on his game in the Drew League this summer.

The breakout scorer showed that last season was no fluke, dominating with his athleticism and natural perimeter touch against some pretty stiff competition.

9. James Harden, Drew League

6 of 14

Harden took his beard, mohawk and perimeter attack to the Drew League where he set off a sizzling summer of action with a 51-point performance.

The barrage included 27 points in the first quarter, and Harden showed just about everyone in the gym why he deserves a starting role with the Thunder moving forward.

8. LeBron James, Drew League

7 of 14

The Drew League has gotten some serious exposure this summer, and it was one of the best days of the summer when LeBron stopped by the gym to partake in some competitive action.

James showed no fear stepping into one of the most well-respected circuits of the summer, showing off impressive range from the perimeter and earning regular applause from the crowd.

7. John Wall, Melo Center

8 of 14

Wall promised to return next season with an increased all-around attack, and if his performance at the Melo Center was any indication of things to come, the second-year player is about to explode.

With absolutely crazy handles, springs in his shoes and a step-back jumper that he simply didn't have last season, Wall looked like he has every intention of becoming an All-Star sooner rather than later.

6. Brandon Jennings, Goodman League

9 of 14

Brandon Jennings has made some news as he interns at Under Armour, but that's not the only thing that he's been up to this summer.

Jennings has lit it up in a variety of exhibitions and charity games this summer, but his 51 points at the esteemed Goodman League was one of the more impressive bullet points on his resume in a summer where he's really looking to take the next step.

5. Nick Young, Drew League

10 of 14

Young had a beef with the Drew League after he was bypassed for the MVP award this summer despite averaging 40.5 points per game.

He may have had a valid argument, as in addition to working on a pretty sweet hairdo of his own, dropped 60 points in a single contest, looking every bit like the scorer he showed capable of being with the Wizards last season.

4. Kevin Durant, Drew League

11 of 14

In what has been a summer mostly dominated by the Durantula, his appearance at the Drew League certainly came as advertised.

He'll be playing for the Goodman squad when the two league's face off in a highly anticipated matchup on August 20, but Durant was at the top of the Drew League for at least one day with this performance.

3. Kevin Durant, Nike Pro-Am

12 of 14

When he's not invading a summer league near you, Durant is taking his game to the Pro-Am circuit and silencing the hecklers in the crowd.

Despite being mocked with chants of "Baby LeBron", Durant stepped up and hit the game-winner for his team in this one before waving his taunter bye-bye out of the gym that K.D. clearly controlled.

2. Gary Forbes, Greater Hartford Pro-Am

13 of 14

The UMass product made the Nuggets last season and finally got some attention as he proved to be a very capable contributor off the bench, but this summer performance was undoubtedly the best we've seen from him in 2011.

Forbes hit 13 three-pointers en route to a 78-point output, but most amazingly, Forbes' squad only won by four points despite the standout performance from the forward.

1. Kevin Durant, Rucker Park

14 of 14

Durant might not have had 78, but 66 at the Rucker is far more impressive than 78 in a Greater Hartford Pro-Am.

The Oklahoma City superstar shut down the park with his memorable performance, and the fact that he was able to do it with such ease really speaks to how promising his future is as a player.
