John Wall Video: Watch Wizards Star's Magical 2011 NC Pro-Am Performance
I can watch basketball mixtapes literally all day, especially ones on the level of Washington Wizards’ John Wall dominating the 2011 NC Pro-Am.
After embarrassing himself with one of the most horrific opening pitches earlier this offseason, Wall is back on the hardwood to dazzle us with his masterful basketball wizardry.
Donning the patented LeBron James No. 6 jersey, Wall resembled a miniature version of “The King” as he gutted his opponents. His team may have lost, but who cares about a “W” in a Pro-Am league?
All we want to see is what a superstar can do on the court, and the Great Wall did not disappoint by any means.
He wasn’t the highlight because he was the biggest name in the game, but because of his play and willingness to feed into nonsense. He lit up the court as he engaged the fans and opponents with smack talk, which is always the best part of these events.
Wall was laying the smack down on his opponents as quickness was unbearable for defenders. He also looked stronger than ever driving to the bucket, as not a single man could impede his journey to the hoop. It may be the tighty-whitey jersey, but it certainly looks like he added muscle in preparation for his sophomore NBA campaign.
Wall was as on as he has ever been. He knocked down treys and silenced haters at the free throw line to put an exclamation point on his game.
The best was when he pulled out his inner-LeBron after losing the ball driving the hoop. He sprinted down the court with blazing recovery speed and took flight to swat the ball from his opponent on the fast break, the move that has become synonymous with James.
I’ve been hooked on mixtapes for more than a decade thanks to the beloved And1 Mixtape series, so you can believe me when I tell you how grateful I am that the internet and Youtube allow me to get my fix of basketball highlights.
It’s reassuring that, despite the lockout, our favorite NBA superstars are still playing ball, whether it is on the hardwood with Wall and Brandon Jennings or the concrete with Michael Beasley and Kevin Durant.
I’ve questioned Wall in the past, but his display of heroics and hustle at this Pro-Am was simply awesome. Credit definitely goes to EliteMixtapes for putting together a masterful Great Wall highlight reel with a super instrumental to spice it up.
Whether he’s donning No. 2 or No. 6, I can’t wait to watch Wall abuse opponents the rest of the summer whenever I can. He understands what these events are really about, putting on a true show for the fans with his dynamic play and smack talk.
