What’s Going On With Drogba?

TheChelseaBlog.orgNov 10, 2008
Bit strange Drogba’s no-show at Blackburn I thought. I mean, I know he’s been recovering from injury and Scolari seems to be letting him do it as his own pace, but having come on as a sub against Sunderland and Roma already, surely you’d expect a player to carry on having a few minutes here and there to build up their fitness levels?

All seems a bit weird to me, but according to Chelsea’s assistant first team coach, Ray Wilkins, the Ivorian’s return is still on track. Wilkins says:

“Didier has been out for quite a period, and he still isn’t quite feeling good enough to come into the fold, so we thought it best we left him behind. There is no setback, he just doesn’t feel ready to crack on.”

Still doesn’t ring true to me but then nothing is ever straight forward where Didier Drogba is concerned and he’s apparently been pencilled in for yet another return against Burnley.
