Chris Johnson: 10 Teams We'd Love to See Trade for CJ2K

Kyle VassaloJun 2, 2018

The Titans might not want to shower the most electrifying player in the NFL in money and lock him in with a long term deal, but he wouldn't have a shortage of suitors if he was thrown onto the block.

Johnson is one of the few backs who possesses elite speed and can still be an every-down back.

Unfortunately, the Titans are in transition, and weapons in Tennessee aren't exactly abundant. Teams are going to stack the box against the Titans, as they did towards the end of last season. That takes away from Johnson's "Wow" factor, and nobody wants that to happen.

Rather than speculate about where Johnson might land if he were on the block, let's check out 10 teams we'd love to see trade for CJ2K.

10. New York Jets

1 of 10

Chris Johnson's swag is currently being muffled just a bit. That wouldn't be the case if he went to the Jets. Can you imagine him being inserted on that team? Johnson on offense and Bart Scott on defense would give us some great soundbites to Jets games.

LaDainian Tomlinson and Chris Johnson in the same backfield would be ridiculous. Not that you needed another reason to watch the Jets.

New Orleans Saints

I'm about to blow your mind. Pierre Thomas isn't that good.

Even so, he was still able to be productive in Sean Payton's offense. He's a completely different runner than Johnson, but teams still wouldn't be able to put eight in the box. When Drew Brees is on the field, teams aren't able to play the run.

Reggie Bush might not have been able to perform at an elite level in the offense, but Johnson most certainly would.

Pittsburgh Steelers

3 of 10

Johnson isn't a Steelers type of running back, but he would bring a completely different dimension to the offense. With Mike Wallace stretching the field as an elite deep threat, Johnson would have room to roam.

He's not the Bus, but he's still capable of putting up monster yardage. Seeing him inserted into the punishing offense the Steelers like to run would be a sight to see.

St. Louis Rams

4 of 10

Sam Bradford isn't the reason the Rams are on this list. Don't get me wrong, seeing Johnson coupled with a quarterback who tossed over 3,500 yards in his rookie year would be cool.

The reason the Rams crack this list is because it would be hilarious to see how teams approach the backfield tandem of Steven Jackson and Johnson.

They are both miserable to tackle for completely different reasons. A split backfield would be far too much to handle. Truly a defensive coordinator's nightmare.

Philadelphia Eagles

5 of 10

LeSean McCoy is a worse version of Johnson. He might have better hands, but Johnson would bring everything McCoy brings and more.

The Eagles have the most explosive offense in the league. They have home-run threats all over the place and Johnson would be a perfect fit. Imagine Michael Vick and Johnson on the same team. Still think the option would never work in the NFL?

Atlanta Falcons

6 of 10

The Atlanta Falcons are already the most complete offense in the league. They've got it all and the addition of Julio Jones only establishes them atop the league even more so.

Plugging in Johnson would give them two top-notch backs with different styles. Teams wouldn't be able to double cover Roddy White or Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez would still have to be accounted for and there would always be fresh legs in at running back.

They wouldn't just be any fresh legs either. They would be Michael Turner/Chris Johnson legs. Good luck stopping that, NFC South.

Indianapolis Colts

7 of 10

Peyton Manning hasn't had a decent running back since Edgerrin James was in town. We've seen how weapons around Manning tend to go from slightly below average assets to household names.

Johnson wouldn't have to make that transition, but there is something appealing about Johnson running a draw in the Colts offense. Not to mention, somebody might actually buy a Manning play action if he had someone to hand the ball off to.

Houston Texans

8 of 10

Arian Foster was able to obtain the rushing title in the Texans' offense. No disrespect to Mr. Foster, but he doesn't hold a candle to CJ2K.

The Texans have such a talented aerial assault going on, defenses were willing to give up yards on the ground in order to control their passing game to a dull roar.

Imagine a world where teams were more afraid of another weapon than Johnson. Scary.

Green Bay Packers

9 of 10

John Kuhn was able to rise to stardom in Green Bay. The man, the myth, the legend stepped up favorably when Green Bay started losing weapons.

Adding Johnson to that mix would put the Packers on the fast track in their pursuit of a dynasty. They have a great passing game and could be even more scary if they added the fastest player in the league into their offensive arsenal.

New England Patriots

10 of 10

Some of you are probably screaming at the computer. This is the last team many people would like to see him on. Even so, we could be witnessing the 2,500 yard season Johnson predicted before the 2010 season began.

It would be fun to see how Belichick would utilize Johnson. Look at the running backs in their stable who put up numbers. Imagine what a guy like Johnson could do there.

With Tom Brady under center, it's hard to imagine the Patriots losing a game if Johnson made his way to Foxborough.

Part of me just wants to see him and Chad Ocho Cinco on the same field.
