Large wide receivers are a prized commodity within the college football community. Players like Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss and Roy Williams are salivated over by coaches of the most elite programs.
Dorial Green-Beckham brings all the talent of the aforementioned players to the table and forms a complete package.
A player with the rare ability to dominate the game from the wide receiver position, Green-Beckham is large—6'5" large—but still maintains the quickness and raw speed needed to make a wide receiver elite.
With many large receivers, you can see a lack of fluidity within their movements; however, that is not an issue with Green-Beckham. He glides across the field with long strides and appears to make the game look easy in all areas. He also uses his massive wingspan and leaping ability to tower over defensive backs, making him nearly impossible to cover at the high school level.
Green-Beckham has the frame, athleticism and intangibles needed to be an All-American type of player at the collegiate level. Whomever receives the commitment from him will ultimately be signing the most talented player in the 2012 class.
What Will Be His Final Destination?
Schools all across the country are making their pitch to bring Green-Beckham to their camps; however, his home-state school appears to have the upper hand.
The Missouri Tigers—although it has not been proclaimed—have a distinct advantage of sitting in the backyard of this talented prospect. The Tigers seem to be the most likely destination, but with the wide array of coaches who are currently pursuing Green-Beckham, that could ultimately change.
