Wrestling News: Watch Former ROH Star Kenny Omega Wrestle 9-Year Old Haruka
It appears as if Japan's youth movement is in full effect, and it's far more kick-ass than WWE's experimental endeavors from the outset. Last weekend, nine-year-old wrestling sensation Haruka competed in her biggest match to date against the well-traveled Kenny Omega, one of the top independent wrestlers in the world and a former product of Ring of Honor.
The Stardom promotion of Japan kickstarted a copious amount of buzz by way of a match they promoted between Omega and the young Japanese standout, whose near-five minute match with Omega featured selling, charisma, facial expressions, and execution of maneuvers that exceeded that of many of her comparatively bland WWE Diva counterparts back in America.

The match had to have earned at least 8/12ths (and a half) of a star on those wack job five-star scales that purists use.
It is customary for Japanese crowds to observe wrestling matches with limited interaction and fanfare, however these particular spectators could not help but get involved in the unique spectacle they were witnessing. It would be very interesting to see how hot an American crowd would get for the mano-y-childo duel that was staged between these two talented Japanese wrestling standouts.
The match followed a typical story of the veteran Kenny Omega heavily underestimating Haruka, who has previously competed against similarly aged female competitors.
Haruka didn't back down from her proficient opposition and gave him all he could handle, including a 619 (which the Japanese announcers referenced as the 619 despite the move being used frequently in Japan as the Tiger Feint Kick), a dive to the outside, and a perfectly executed enzuigiri.
Omega's offense was just as physical, despite the disparities in size and age that would suggest he take it easy, as he slammed her face into the padded turnbuckles multiple times and connected with an enzuigiri of his own.
The rather anti-climactic finish came as Omega prepared for a modified back suplex maneuver, only to be stopped by the referee.
Not since Snooki's in-ring gymnastics at WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta has a diminutive female made such a spectacle of herself within the confines of a short-form match. Give it another five years or so and she could possibly feud with Kharma's baby. Kia Stevens will surely be back in Japan by then, right?
