Ranking the Real Contenders for WWE Money in the Bank

The annual Money in the Bank Premium Live Event (PLE) has become one of WWE's most important opportunities for a Superstar looking to break into the main event picture.

Bron Breakker and Sol Ruca have already added their names to the contender list, but other top Superstars should be fighting their way into the match, as the briefcase can instantly change a wrestler's career trajectory.

Here are the three men and three women who stand out as the real contenders to walk away with the Money in the Bank briefcases.

Men's Money in the Bank

3. Je'Von Evans

Je'Von Evans has the athletic ability and natural charisma to make a Money in the Bank ladder match feel important, with his high-risk style making him one of the most exciting performers in the match.

WWE should use the briefcase to elevate Evans to a legitimate threat, not just one of the company's most promising young stars. He is exactly the type of Superstar who could surprise everyone by stealing the briefcase and the show.

2. Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu feels like an even more viable option since Triple H and WWE Creative wouldn't need to completely reinvent his character after a Money in the Bank victory. Fatu already carries himself as a top-level threat, and giving him the briefcase would create plenty of possibilities for WWE to build toward a championship match.

While the company may hesitate to pull the trigger on another matchup with Roman Reigns, Fatu can become a world champion and should be given the opportunity.

1. Bron Breakker

As the first confirmed entrant, Breakker is the strongest choice to win the men's Money in the Bank match, thanks to his combination of youth, credibility and upside that WWE should look for in a future world champion.

Breakker doesn't need the briefcase to prove that he belongs near the top of the card, but winning it after losing to Obama Femi would give WWE Creative an easy way to position him as a future WWE or world heavyweight champion.

Women's Money in the Bank

3. Lyra Valkyria

After months of porous booking, Lyra Valkyria is the type of Superstar who could benefit enormously from winning the briefcase. After showing she can compete at a high level, the briefcase would give WWE a storyline vehicle to move her from an established contender to a potential world-title threat.

In addition, Valkyria brings enough credibility as a future champion, with her cash-in potentially feeling like a major moment rather than simply a developmental step.

2. Sol Ruca

Ruca is the most intriguing choice to win the women's match. WWE could use the briefcase to accelerate the rise of one of its most exciting young Superstars, and she has a clear path toward a breakout performance

The former champion's athletic ability makes her an ideal performer for a ladder match built around spectacular moments. A victory would give the company a fresh Money in the Bank story while establishing her as someone who belongs in the conversation for a women's world title opportunity.

1. Iyo Sky

Iyo Sky has arguably the strongest résumé of the three contenders, making her an obvious choice whenever WWE needs someone to deliver a major Money in the Bank moment.

Sky has the experience, athleticism and championship credibility necessary to make the briefcase feel important. While she may not need the briefcase as much as some of the other women on the main roster, that doesn't make her any less dangerous as a potential winner.
