Inter Milan's Maicon Is Up for Sale and Manchester City Is Interested

Last season Maicon attracted a lot of attention from Real Madrid about a possible move to the Bernabeu. However, the signing of Fabio Coentrao this window along with interest from other clubs could see Maicon make a move away from Spain and possibly to the Premier League.

According to Goal.com, Inter have put Maicon up for sale of the transfer market and have asked €20 million for the fullback. The Brazilian has been getting on in age, hitting the "big 30" mark just recently. With the youngster Jonathan (also Brazilian) next in line to fill the role, it is only a matter of time before Maicon is pushed to the bench in favour of youth.

It isn't all doom and gloom for Maicon though, with Manchester City apparently interested in the services of the attacking fullback and makeshift midfielder. Goal.com suggests Carlos Tevez is interested in a move for Inter. This could pave way for a swap deal provided that the two clubs can come to an agreement.

However, the recent signing of Gael Clichy may question the need to have Maicon at the club. Yet another wing back could mean limited playing time for other players.

Last season Maicon finished second with Inter, scoring one goal and getting eight assists in the process.
