How Will Arsenal Cope Without Robin van Persie And Emmanuel Adebayor?

Callum D'SouzaNov 7, 2008

Arsenal may have some defensive problems and defensive midfield problems, but upfront they are of the highest class. Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor are two of the top strikers in Europe, and Arsenal will be without their stunning pair when they face of with probably the best team in Europe.

Manchester United v. Arsenal is always the fixture you look for when the EPL draw comes out, it is one of the fiercest rivalries English football has ever seen. Manchester and Arsenal know what it's about and the games are always of the highest quality—though they may not contain a huge amount of goals the style of play, the passing, the counter attacks, the atmosphere is phenomenal.

But people are already writing off Arsenal just because upfront they are too "inexperienced" and "lack depth" but I think that's stupid. Arsene Wenger will have prepared Carlos Vela and Nicklas Bendtner exceptionally and they will no doubt come out firing.

Compared to the likes of Manchester's Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney up front Arsenal's youngsters look a little lacklustre, but it's rubbish to write Arsenal off.

The footballing world is yet to see that fantastic tricks, the amazing agility and the coolness of Mexican youngster Carlos Vela, who I believe could be the next Thierry Henry for Arsenal.

Nicklas Bendtner can be clumsy and his first touch and passing have been astray in recent weeks but I am expecting a huge game from Bendtner and he will no doubt be using everything Wenger has taught him to attack Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

Arsenal will definitely lack the creativity and power Robin van Persie equips the Arsenal attack with, plus his shotgun/left foot would be extremely useful in the match against Manchester. Arsenal will also lack the speed, agility, balance and pure skill that Adebayor brings but if Theo Walcott and Samir Nasri can attack the life out of Patrice Evra and Gary Neville we will have a boosted attack.

With Arsenals season on the line this is a must for Arsenal but I am confident that this will be Arsenal's day.

Good luck Arsenal
