Top 10 Bundesliga Goals from 2010-11: A Walk Down Memory Lane

Samrin HasibJul 31, 2011

The goals in the 2010-11 Bundesliga season were wonderful. As the season opener comes closer, I decided to put together 10 of my most memorable goals of the previous season. The goals aren't in any particular order.

It is impossible to put these goals in any order anyways as they are just magical ones. Take a look and enjoy!

Ivo Ilicevic (FCK) vs. Bayern (FCK 2-0 Bayern)

1 of 10

This goal came as early as the second match day of the season. Holders of the previous season, Bayern Munchen visited the terrific Betze, otherwise known as the Fritz Walter Stadium.

Kaiserslautern played extremely well and confined Bayern to defeat. Ilicevic, who went onto have a great season, scored a cracker from distance. Hans-Joerg Butt could do very little about the wonderful placed shot.

Sidney Sam (Leverkusen) vs. FCK (Bayer 3-1 FCK)

2 of 10

This stunner by Sidney Sam left me open-mouthed. Sidney Sam rose as a star last season. He joined Leverkusen last season from Kaiserslautern and also scored in the reverse fixture.

If he continues to score stunners like these, there is no reason why his star won't become even brighter.

Toni Kroos (Bayern) vs. Freibrug (Bayern 4-2 Freiburg)

3 of 10

Bayern and Toni Kroos in particular didn't have a great season in 2010-11. However, Kroos did score one spectacular goal.

He has already scored in friendlies this season and looks set to shine again under Jupp Heynckes.

Mario Goetze (Dortmund) vs. Hanover (Dortmund 4-1 Hanover)

4 of 10

Dortmund's title credentials had come under serious scrutiny during that point of the season. Down 1-0 to Hanover in Dortmund, the young team could have thrown it all away.

However, that didn't happen as the outstanding youngster Mario Goetze rose to the occasion and stunned the Bundesliga world.

Marco Reus (Gladbach) vs. Bayern (Gladbach 3-3 Bayern)

5 of 10

In an action packed match, Marco Reus showed off his skills. I couldn't find a better video than this and apologize for the quality. You will find the goal at 7:49 to 7:58.

Georgios Tzavellas (Frankfurt) vs. Schalke (Schalke 2-1 Frankfurt)

6 of 10

Manuel Neuer, currently the best keeper in the world, was left looking quite dumb by this effort. Whether Tzavellas even intended to score here is questionable.

However, it is worth a watch; after all, the ball went into the back of the net from 73 metres out! The goal is quite funny to look at and provides a fantastic memory of the past season.

Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg) vs. FSV Mainz (Wolfsburg 3-4 Mainz)

7 of 10

Wolfsburg led 3-0 in this match. Complacency set in and Mainz put four past them in the second half.

However, Edin Dzeko, the current Manchester City player, displayed exquisite skill and scored a great goal. The goal happens to be the first one in the video.

Nuri Sahin (Dortmund) vs. Bayern (Bayern 1-3 Dortmund)

8 of 10

This goal was one of the most wonderful and memorable ones of the entire campaign. Nuri Sahin, the current Real Madrid star, hit this beauty as Dortmund consigned Bayern to defeat.

This goal can be viewed millions of times and yet, one won't get tired of it. You will find the goal from the 1:26 to 1:35 mark.

Franck Ribery (Bayern) vs. Freiburg (Freiburg 1-2 Bayern)

9 of 10

Bayern's chances of even earning a playoff spot in the Champions League was under serious threat at this point.

Hanover wasn't allowing Bayern fans any sleep and when Bayern was in desperate need of points, they desperately needed someone to step up to the task.

Franck Ribery did accordingly and scored in the 88th minute to give Bayern all three points.

Sebastian Rode (Frankfurt) vs. Bayern (Frankfurt 1-1 Bayern)

10 of 10

Sebastian Rode scored in his Frankfurt against Bayern and later found himself in tears. The goal was a wonderful effort even though Bayern fans might think otherwise.
