Miami Football 2011: 10 Reasons Why Hurricanes Fans Hate Florida and Florida St.

There is nothing like a heated rivalry in college football. Not only do the players hate each other, but the fans do as well.

The Hurricanes and the Seminoles know exactly what I am talking about, and they meet on Nov. 12 in Tallahassee.

Miami leads the overall series 31-24, but that will not stop the trash talking we all will do.

Here are five reasons why the Florida Sate Seminoles stink.

That Stupid Annoying War Chant

Not only is the war chant annoying, but the waving of the arms is just as lame.

When you watch it on television, it doesn't seem all that bad and even sounds like they are in sync with each other, but that all changes when you go to a game.

Four or five people will start the chant and before you know it, Bubba and Mary Jo are doing it after everyone else has stopped.

One of the most annoying sounds anyone can make is that chant.

Rednecks Galore

I understand that a good part of north Florida is country and good old boys, but why does it seem like every redneck is a Florida State fan?

Is it because of the loyalty to ex-head coach and king redneck Bobby Bowden?

Is it because Tallahassee tends to be a little more country than Miami?

Don't get me wrong, Florida is full of country folks, but what is the infatuation with camouflage and Florida State?

Whatever it is, it's annoying and one of the main reasons why Florida State sucks.

People Put Jimbo Fisher on a Pedastal for No Reason

There is one thing I will never understand: Why does Fisher get all the recognition he receives?

He came in after Bobby Bowden and won 10 games with Bowden's players, and all the sudden he is one of the best coaches in college football.

I mean until you crown him as the best coach ever, let him prove himself a little more first.

You people know he was denied the head coaching position at Alabama-Birmingham, right?

They Made a Rap Video

One of the most horrible things in sports is when a player or team decides to make a rap video on how great of a team they are.

The Chicago Bears were the first team to do it, and although it was horrible, they at least were NFL champions.

Well in 1988 the Florida State Seminoles were the preseason ranked No. 1 team in the country, and they to decided to create a rap video.

The rap was a failure, and so was their first game of the season when the Hurricanes spanked the Seminoles, 31-0.

FSU's History Is No Where Near Miami's

If you want to be considered anywhere near Miami in terms of history, you may need to win more than two national championships.

Even the Gators have three.

In fact when Florida State fans want to argue, what really (besides last year) is there even to argue about with Hurricane fans?

Miami leads the overall series (31-24), Miami won a championship more recently than FSU, more players go into the NFL from Miami, etc.

In fact, it may be in your best interest to argue with UF, since they are more on your level.

...now the Reasons Why the Florida Gators Suck

Hurricane fans don't think that FSU is the only Florida team that sucks, because the Seminoles share the floor with the Florida Gators.

Isn't it funny that as soon as Florida wins a couple games, they are now a dominant team? 

Well, sorry Florida, but just like the Seminoles, you suck just as bad, if not worse.

Here are the reasons why.

The City of Gainesville Sucks

Trust me, I know this one for a fact.

Unfortunately I live about 30 miles away from Gainesville and know the city like the back of my hand.

The people are entirely too liberal, everyone drives like crap, the taxes are extremely high and the college kids are obnoxious.

I know that you are thinking that the reason I feel this way is because I am a Hurricane fan living in Gator country, but even my co-workers (who are Gator fans), feel the same way about the city.

The only thing good about Gainesville is that I only had to deal with the cockiness of the Gator football fans for a few years, and since the team's "domination" should be over for another decade, I can cross out one crappy thing about this city.

Gator Chomp

Really?

Every time a good play is made the crowd and players have to do a "Gator Chomp"?

Much like the war chant from FSU, the Gator Chomp is an arm movement, but instead of simulating a tomahawk chop, the Gator fans simulate an alligator chomping their prey.

What do I see it as?

Eighty-thousand fans who don't know how to clap correctly.

Here I thought FSU education was lacking, but at least the Seminoles can clap properly.

Tim Tebow Was God?

I have heard more then once that Tebow was actually God.

Not because he is a religious man, but because he actually was a god.

That he was not only a perfect football player, but the most perfect human being.

Really?

Don't get me wrong, he was a good player, but he wasn't even the best Gator ever, that belongs to Emmitt Smith.

In fact, the list (a short one at that) of Gators who had success in the NFL will not even have Tebow's name on it, so how can he be godly?

By the way, Florida fans, you do know he doesn't play for your team any more, right?

Just proves yet another reason why UF sucks.

Brock Berlin Left Florida, Came to Miami and Beat the Gators, Twice

You want to know how bad the Gators suck?

Back in 2003, Berlin left Florida to play for a real team, the Miami Hurricanes.

Many Gator fans were happy he left, stating he wasn't that good anyway.

Berlin may have not been the best quarterback ever, but was still good enough to beat the team that sold him out twice.

How much does that suck?

Florida, You Are NOT the U

With all the talk around the city of Gainesville, you would think that the Gators have actually won more championships than Miami and FSU.

All the fans talk about how great of a team they are now compared to both Miami and FSU.

I can understand Gator fans bashing Miami—they have yet to prove anything in the last few years.

I mean Hurricane fans did it to Gator fans for 25 years straight, so UF can have the last seven years.

The one thing UF fans have to realize is, it doesn't matter what your team has done,you still don't have as many championships as Miami and no matter what you think, you will never be "The U."

Heck, even GQ magazine recognized the University of Florida as one of the "Douchiest Colleges" in America.

Chomp on that.
