World Transfer Rumors: 5 Transfers That Should Happen in the Next Week
The transfer window is well past its midpoint now.
Some teams have made all their necessary purchases, while others haven't yet begun.
The Super Cups are coming up pretty soon, and teams will want to make their transfers as soon as possible.
Here's a list of five players who should make a move in the upcoming week.
Charles N'Zogbia
1 of 5Age: 25
Nationality: French
Current Team: Wigan Athletic
It seems that the only problem in the N'Zogbia-to-Aston-Villa deal is that Alex McLeish doesn't want to pay $16 million (10 million pounds).
Wigan clearly want to sell the winger, and chairman Dave Whelan considers the transfer fee to be a bargain.
Villa have reportedly offered something close to the $16-million price tag, and it would be very strange for them to not end up meeting the required amount.
This deal should be finalized in the next few days.
Most Likely Destination: Aston Villa
Romelo Lukaku
2 of 5Age: 18
Nationality: Belgian
Current Team: R.S.C. Anderlecht
Lukaku has been linked to various world-class teams this summer.
Many of the rumors have said that the Belgian man will be on his way to London soon.
Arsenal have been linked to Lukaku, but it is Chelsea who have a bigger chance of signing him. It's unclear right now whether the Blues will strongly pursue the 18-year-old, with Andre Villas-Boas' recent comments.
It's somewhat obvious to me that Chelsea should buy a forward, and I feel that Romelo Lukaku would be perfect, especially if Anelka and others leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
It would be smart to make the transfer sooner rather than later with the EPL beginning soon.
Most Likely Destination: Chelsea or Arsenal
Sergio Aguero
3 of 5Age: 23
Nationality: Argentinian
Current Team: Atletico Madrid
Sergio Aguero has long been rumored to leave Atletico Madrid in search of European competition.
This summer, the gossip is at its highest.
It's clear that the Argentinian wants to leave Atletico, but no deal has been made yet. Manchester City look set to buy him soon, but it's unclear if he is a replacement for Tevez or simply an add-on to the many strikers City already have.
Most Likely Destination: Manchester City
Javier Pastore
4 of 5Age: 22
Nationality: Argentinian
Current Team: Palermo
Pastore was applauded for his performances last season and has been linked to many top clubs in Europe.
Many of the rumors were unfounded, and it seems that there are only two teams who want him now: Chelsea and Paris St. Germain.
PSG have recently been subject to a big investment and have found themselves with a lot of money. With the end of their pursuit of Adel Taarabt, it appears that Pastore is their new target.
Chelsea have been linked to the Argentinian as well. We will see who wins the race, and we should know the result by the end of the week.
Most Likely Destination: Chelsea or PSG
Alberto Aquilani
5 of 5Age: 27
Nationality: Italian
Current Team: Liverpool
Alberto Aquilani spent last season on loan at Juventus after a disappointing 2009-2010 campaign at Anfield.
Liverpool now have the option of selling the Italian after just two years. Juventus don't want to make the loan deal permanent, but it looks like Fiorentina want Aquilani.
It is not so clear whether the deal is actually happening, but it looks like talks are moving forward. I expect a lot of movement in the next five days.
Most Likely Destination: Fiorentina
