Marseille win as Bordeaux, PSG and Toulouse all slip to defeats

Marseille 3 - St. Etienne 1 (Ligue 1, November 1, 2008) The hosts took the lead on 21 minutes when Ben Arfa’s corner was headed home by Benoit Cheyrou, only for St Etienne to respond immediately through Bafetimbi Gomis. Ben Arfa restored the lead on 38 minutes from the penalty spot and he then created the third on 71 minutes when his corner was headed in by Taye Taiwo.

Lorient 1 - Grenoble 1 (Ligue 1, November 1, 2008) Laurent Courtois had an eventful game by putting Grenoble ahead before being sent off. Lorient levelled through Fabrice Abriel’s penalty after Kevin Gameiro had been brought down.

Lille 2 - Nantes 0 (Ligue 1, November 1, 2008) Ludovic Obraniak and Nicolas Fauvergue scored either side of halftime.

Toulouse 0 - Caen 1 (Ligue 1, November 1, 2008) Nivet was brought on after 76 minutes and, three minutes later, fired home from Steve Savidan’s pass to secure the points.

Nice 1 - PSG 0 (Ligue 1, November 1, 2008) Eric Mouloungui headed home David Hellebuyck’s corner on 39 minutes to earn Nice the points.

Nancy 1 - Bordeaux 0 (Ligue 1, November 1, 2008) Youssouf Hadji’s 70th minute cracker saw off second-placed Bordeaux.

Auxerre 0 - Valenciennes 0 (Ligue 1, November 1, 2008)
