Kyle SkovJun 30, 2011

Liverpool is part of the once-proclaimed big four in the English Premier League. The team is going to have to make some moves this summer if they want to improve and once again join the ranks of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The big issue for Liverpool is those other three teams are not the only stiff competition they have. The likes of Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool’s Merseyside rival, Everton, are all contenders to the Reds.

Kenny Dalglish will have to find some players who will make an impact and work hard to impress the Kop.

The Anfield faithful all know Dalglish, along with the team's new owners, will help Liverpool be in the Champions League again.

Here are five players who will strengthen Liverpool and help them do that.

Enrique has very good ability to defend on angles and does not normally get caught out. His ability to get into the offense without being stuck up too far makes him a player who is impactful from the left side.

Liverpool will have to battle Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich for the Spanish left back’s signature.

Charlie Adam

Charlie Adam is a player who has paid his dues and deserves more then one season in the Premier League. The former Blackpool captain was instrumental in the exciting football the Seasiders played.

He is a hard-nosed player who makes things happen. He creates for himself and is a great distributor of the ball. His ability to play tough is something the Liverpool organization and its fans will appreciate.

Liverpool is willing to send youngsters out on loan to improve the Blackpool squad, as they try to get back to the Premier League. This is going to help ensure Adam joins the Reds.

Charles N’Zogbia is a very important player for Wigan Athletic, but the time has come for him to move from the club and take his career to the next level.

N’Zogbia’s versatility might be the reason why he could be so valuable to Liverpool. His ability to play on the right and the left wings, centrally and as a left back makes him a player who could be important for Dalglish.

N’Zogbia is 25 and just hitting form. He is getting chances with the France National Team and catching the eyes of coaches and fans everywhere.

Alberto Aquilani

5 of 5

Alberto Aquilani is already under contract with Liverpool, so why is he on this list?

He is a player who came to Liverpool injured initially. When he healed up, he never got a chance to prove his ability at the club. Aquilani coming back to the club full time would be like having a new signing.

In his limited time, he played well. But when the season finished and Roy Hodgson came in, he was promptly loaned back to Serie A.

He played well for Juventus and now his future is influx. Some reports have him staying with the Serie A side, and some have him heading back to Liverpool.

His future is unclear, but his talents are not.

He is a player who can change an entire team with his ability on the ball. He makes things happen and understands the game at a level that most players do not.
