Barcelona FC: 5 Sides Who Are Better Than the 2011 Squad

This Barcelona side is being hailed ( and rightly) as one of the greatest sides of all time. I believe, however, that it is an exaggeration to state that they are the pinnacle of football. In this slideshow, I will show that there are sides in footballing history  better than Barcelona.

Real Madrid 1955-1960

This Madrid side won five European cups back-to-back. This side contained the "Blond Arrow" Di Stefano, dark winger Francisco Gento, the French midfielder Raymond Kopa and Hungarian legend Ferenc Puskas.

Brazil 1970

The Brazil side which starred in the 1970 World cup, is considered by many to be the best side in the history of the game. The side boasted tricky winger Jaizinho, Garrincha's spiritual succesor, playmaker Gerson, right back Carlos Alberto and strikers Tostao and Pele. Naturally, they won the World Cup in 1970.  

Ajax Under Michels

Ajax under Michels were the first exponent of Total Football, winning three European cups in quick succession.

Barcelona 1992

Johan Cruyff's dream team who won the European Cup in 1992.

Liverpool 1981-84

This was one of the greatest club sides of all time, which won two European cups in three years.
