College Football Recruiting 2012: 5 Teams Likely to Seal the Deal in a Visit
While we have some programs that can are excellent and thorough through the entire recruiting process, we have a few teams that make other rivals tremble when they learn a recruit is visiting them.
Rivals know that the programs on this list can really seal the deal in one visit due to factors of football prestige, football history, location, coaching, NFL connections, facilities and fanbase among other.
Here are five teams that can seal the deal on one visit.
5. Stanford
1 of 5Have you seen Stanford/Palo Alto, CA? It's gorgeous. When I visited Stanford's campus a few years back, the drive through Palo Alto was a great one, as the scenery was great. The location of The Farm is really neat.
Then you toss in the fact that a degree from Stanford goes a very, very long ways due to the academic prestige of the university and you know you have something. That's something the Cardinal coaches really sell on a visit.
Oh, right, not to mention they've actually been pretty good on the field the past few years, play a fun and physical brand of football and are viewed as a program on the rise.
4. Oregon
2 of 5You combine maybe the best looking facilities with an extremely passionate and loud fan base, super-cool uniforms, great football success with a fun, fast-break offense and a visit to Oregon could be the last time you hear from your prized 5-star commit.
Ask USC in regards to 5-star ATH DeAnthony Thomas, who switched his commitment from LA to Eugene after taking a visit there.
The Ducks do it big on visits and recruits always come back more than impressed with everything they have to offer.
The campus is always talked about as amazing scenery wise too.
3. Alabama
3 of 5Alabama really has a lot to offer and sell during a visit. No they don't have an amazing location with a beach near. Nor is the campus in the middle of or around a big metro-city.
You want to go on a visit where the mood is about football, passion, history and handling your business? Well go visit Tuscaloosa, young man.
The Crimson Tide have a celebrity head coach, but more than that they share an outstanding pure traditional football history, a rabid fanbase, solid academics and excellent football facilities among others.
2. Texas
4 of 5Texas really sells a recruit on a visit their awesome facilities, winning history and the community of Austin.
Recruits always come back from a visit to Texas raving about the Longhorns due to the set up and upkeep of the program's facilities on campus, Mack Brown's wholesomeness and the prestige of playing for the top college football program in perhaps the biggest football state.
If I'm a recruit, Texas definitely gets a visit.
1. LSU
5 of 5If I'm a recruit, LSU is a visit I want to take in the fall while the Tigers have a Saturday night home game. I've heard countless stories about how electric the atmosphere is on Saturday nights in Death Valley.
Heck, this experience is about to make my bucket list.
On visits, LSU seals the deal by mixing football talk, family vibes, an extremely hostile fanbase/home crowd, a great stadium and great facilities, with filling a recruit's belly with Bayou classics like gumbo, crawfish, shrimp boils and more.
Why not commit on a full stomach?
