2011 NBA Draft Results: How Jimmer Fredette Fits in with the Sacramento Kings

Jeff KneisJun 23, 2011

Jimmer Fredette was taken as the number 10 pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.

UPDATE: His rights have been traded to the Sacramento Kings in a three way trade.

As the top college basketball star of the 2010-11 season, many people are expecting more magic from Jimmer in the NBA. He will have to learn to be a more well rounded point guard and will have less pressure on his shoulders to be the lead scorer for his team.

Jimmer brings a variety of different shots to the table and has that special "it" factor that makes great players special.

Now that Jimmer is a Sacramento King, how will he fit in?

Jimmer Fredette Will Streghten the Kings Front Court

While the Kings already have a good young shooting guard in Treke Evans and a veteran shooting guard in John Salmons, Jimmer can come in and play both PG and SG positions for the Bucks and be an immediate upgrade as a backup.

With John Salmons on the downside of his career, Jimmer can form a great young backcourt nucleus with Tyreke Evans. Jimmer could benefit from not having to be solely a point guard, where he can use his shooting strength to help score points.

With Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins already on the team, Jimmer can come in and add another scoring threat for the Kings. These three young players can develop into a great trio that could hang with the best teams in the NBA.

Jimmer's excellent shooting will provide the missing aspect between Evans' driving ability and Cousin's inside game. Jimmer should be able to prove himself early with many open threes.
