Daily Market Wrap Up: NBA Action Starts Up

Dan FabrizioOct 28, 2008

Moving Today's Market

The NBA season kicks off tonight with Cavaliers traveling to Boston to face the defending World Champion Celtics. That game is interesting as each team is receiving 50% of the public spread bets, which means no Betting System plays have been triggered for the game. The other two games have seen more movement and created some interesting plays. The Bulls are receiving 60%  of spread bets as 6.5 point favorites over the Bucks at Pinnacle. The line opened at Chicago -6. At BetPhoenix the line had moved to Chicago -7 before dropping back down, and the movement created a Smart Money play on Milwaukee. The upstart Trail Blazers open the season in LA against the defending Western Conference Champion Lakers. Los Angeles is a 7.5 point favorite at Pinnacle, and is receiving 62% of public spread bets. The line movement has triggered three Smart Money plays on the Blazers.

In the NHL, the public loves the young Penguins team lead by "Sid the Kid". Pittsburgh travels to play a tough Western Conference team in San Jose, and are receiving 53% of the moneyline bets. The Sharks opened as -165 favorites at Pinnacle, but the line has moved in the opposite direction of the betting percentage. San Jose is currently a -173 favorite. The movement has triggered a trio of Smart Money moves, including one from TradeSports (13-10).
