College Football Predictions: Baby's Losers For November 1, Judgement Day

BabyTateOct 27, 2008

College football looks forward to the first weekend of November. A time when the regular season conference races are often settled. Not only at the top but, also for the mid-level Bowl positioning. After this Saturday, the image of football takes a turn for the winter weather, and we will see who is best prepared for "the witch of November".

                                            BABY'S LOSERS 11/1/08

1) TENNESSEE @ SOUTH CAROLINA

The Gamecocks have lost 3 games this season, all by 7 points, to Georgia, LSU, and Vanderbilt. Before the season began it was felt in some corners this game could decide the Liberty Bowl. We'll see. Baby's Loser, Tennessee.

2) TEXAS @ TEXAS TECH

During the past month I have written articles on why history  says Texas will win the national championship this year. A man once told me the fellow who invented Dr. Pepper is buried near Buddy Holly in Lubbock. Baby's Loser, Texas.

3) NEBRASKA @ OKLAHOMA

Now this is a traditional football rivalry, one that has almost no equal. The 1971 match-up will forever be known as the greatest game ever played. This should be a bruising return to the days of yore. Baby's Loser, Nebraska.

4) THE AIR FORCE @ THE ARMY

The Black Knights of the Hudson are vastly improved this year while the Falcons are certainly bowl-bound with a 7–2 record so far. The Army needs to win out to qualify for post season. Baby's Loser, in a tight one, The Army.

5) NORTHWESTERN @ MINNESOTA

Big 10 action at its best, 2008 style. Wildcats roll into the twin cities with a 6-2 record while the Golden Gophers are 7-1. Minnesota faces Michigan in the battle for The Little Brown Jug next week. Baby's Loser, Northwestern.

6) ARIZONA STATE @ OREGON STATE

Sun Devil coach Dennis Erickson will be ready for this one. He was the coach in Corvallis and replaced by Mike Riley when times got hot for the old Miami coach. Look out for an upset brewing. Baby's Loser, close, Arizona State.

7TULSA @ ARKANSAS

The Golden Hurricane is 8-0 and the Razorbacks are 3-5. How could this even be close? Because Bobby Petrino realizes he has no chance to recruit the mid-west if he loses this game. Could be a high-scoring affair. Baby's Loser, Arkansas.

                                                GAME OF THE WEEK

8) FLORIDA VERSUS GEORGIA IN JACKSONVILLE

Either of these teams could end up in the BCS Title game. Georgia is at a disadvantage due to having to play a huge game against powerful LSU last week. The Bulldogs defense has not tackled well the past few weeks and even they can't match the speed of the Gators. Baby's Loser, Georgia.

TIM                        6–2                              LSU, VA TECH        37–12      76%

A number of people went 7–1 for the week, including Joe, Colin, Chase, Daniel, Brad, and Marshall. Recording a 6–2 record were Justin, Kristofer, Michael, Red Raider, and Jon. CJ went 5–2, not picking the Alabama–Tennessee game.

Posting 5–3 records were Issac, Robert, Anonymous, Robert, Ryan, Steven, and MiamiMitch stopped by to go 5-3 as well.

Coming in at .500 were Kent and Bobby. Thanks to everyone for posting the picks and congratulations to those who went undefeated for the week.

*Note concerning Kenneth, he went on to add four more picks to the ones listed and hit all of them including Duke over Vanderbilt!
