A Paul Scholes Tribute: Old Trafford's No. 18
He has 10 Premier League titles and 2 European Championships to his name. He scored 150 goals for Manchester United, and with a whopping 676 appearances, he has the 4th highest number of appearances by any player for the club. This man is a hero as far as the Old Trafford faithful are concerned. He donned the number 18 jersey for United.
This man, goes by the name of Paul Scholes.
Born on 16 November, 1974, Paul has been a pivotal member of the Reds. Thierry Henry described him as a "player who knows how to do everything" as well as "the best player in the Premiership, without any doubt." Check the midfielder's mistimed tackles and occasional thigh-high challenges (which helped him yield 90 yellow cards and 4 red cards in the Premier League) at the door, I'd certainly agree with Thierry's comments.

Paul Scholes was, and is still well-known for his slick passing and technique, coupled with his movement on and off the ball. Apart from his homing shots on goal from outside the box, he turned provider with some great assists on many occasions throughout his playing career. Even the likes of Xavi (FC Barcelona) have looked up to him as a role model.
His lifestyle wasn't all too colourful or volatile. Contrary to the stereotypical footballer routine - bar, booze, girls, Paul was more of the quiet, laid-back type. He never really spoke much in public.
I guess that's why the fans loved him. He always let his divine display on the pitch do the talking, and that's what being a footballer is all about!
Thank you for 17 wonderful years of top-notch football, Paul. You will always be remembered.
