Alexis Sanchez Sparks Transfer War Between Manchester City and Manchester United
Manchester United have entered the race to sign Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez.
According to various reports this morning—including this one at the Daily Mail website—United are prepared to fight rivals Manchester City for the signature of the Chile international.
City are said to have lodged a bid of £27 million, but United chief executive David Gill apparently held talks with Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo on Tuesday in an attempt to bring Sanchez to Old Trafford.

Reports in Italy maintain Sanchez is still destined for City, but as the Daily Mail rightly points out, United have thus far acted with such ruthless intent in the transfer market, you wouldn't be surprised if they made the deal happen.
Sir Alex Ferguson has already added Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones to his squad for £16.5 million, and is set to complete a deal for Aston Villa and England winger Ashley Young.
Some reports suggest the United manager is so keen on Sanchez he called the player himself a couple of days ago.
Sanchez has been valued at around £30 million and linked to a host of clubs including European champions Barcelona. But it appears the race has come down to the red and blue halves of Manchester.
