Manchester United Planning a Bid for Samir Nasri
1 of 5
Samir Nasri is trying to negotiate a new deal with Arsenal, but the player and the club haven't been able to settle on a deal. Now the vultures have began to circle around the Frenchman.
Manchester United has been the squad linked to Nasri, and according to Mirror Football, the Red Devils are planning to bid on him to the tune of £10 million. It is just another chapter in what has become a wild offseason for Arsenal, and the deal would be a crushing blow to Arsene Wenger's squad.
Nasri's form left much to be desired towards the end of the season, but he has shown that he can play at a very high level. He is the type of young player that Wenger needs to keep, if he plans to start bringing championships back to the Gunners.
Pique Makes Pitch for Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas
2 of 5
For years, Barcelona and its fans have fawned over Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas.
The midfielder used to be in Barca's farm system, only to be poached by Arsene Wenger, who helped turn him into the club's captain and one of the best players in the world.
From that moment on, Barcelona has waited for the moment when it could get him back.
There was a lot of talk last summer about Fabregas and his future, only to see him stay with the Gunners. This year, Barca is going to try and land him again, and Gerard Pique is lobbying for the Spaniard to join him at Camp Nou.
Per The Daily Mail:
""He is a Barcelona fan and has been his whole life and he would love to come. It would be very, very good for us. Last year it looked like he would come but he didn't. Now it looks like he could again but we have to wait. I hope the people in the offices can work well and can bring him in this time."
"
Pique may want Fabregas in a Barca uniform, but the truth is the club doesn't have the uniform to get the deal done, so all of that is just wishful thinking at this juncture.
Ashley Young Headed to Man U
3 of 5
Manchester United made a big splash today, as it signed Ashley Young to a monster new contract.
Young is jumping ship from Aston Villa, and it's clear that Sir Alex Ferguson isn't going to rest on his laurels after winning the Premier League and finishing second to Barcelona in the Champions League. The deal is worth a grand total of £34 million.
It was a great signing by Man U, and it will be interesting to see what kind of impact he will have once he takes the pitch for the Red Devils.
Liverpool Eyes Gael Clichy
4 of 5
As you can tell from this slideshow, this is a time of massive change at Arsenal.
There is the constant Cesc Fabregas drama, the contract dispute with Samir Nasri and a similar situation with Gael Clichy, which has opened the door for Liverpool to take advantage. The Reds have plans to make a move for the left-back, according to Mirror Football.
Obviously, Wenger would not want a summer where he loses Clichy to Liverpool and Nasri to Manchester United, and I have a hard time believing the Arsenal boss won't fight tooth and nail to keep some of his young, talented players.
However, if he can't agree to deals with Clichy and Nasri, then he has to consider alternative options.
Kaka Reaffirms Allegiance to Real Madrid
5 of 5
Kaka has had an underwhelming tenure with Real Madrid, and there have been rumors about him heading back to Italy to play for AC Milan or Inter Milan.
The Brazilian star has dealt with injury, and he hasn't seemed to be a perfect fit for Los Blancos, but despite that, Kaka reaffirmed his allegiance to the club heading into next season.
Per Goal.com:
""The truth is that I want to continue at Real Madrid and it is likely I will be there next season," he told Globoesporte.
"
"Before leaving Spain, I spoke with the club and it was made clear it would happen. That is the truth, the rest is just speculation, that I am going to Inter or AC Milan or that I am returning to Brazil.
"None of that is part of my plans.
You have to appreciate his honesty, but we have heard plenty of players say they were staying at a club, only to turn around and exit. So let's not write off the possibility of Kaka's departure.
