Liverpool FC: Not Done with Dealings, Who's Next? Quick Summary

Jake RoddJun 8, 2011

Obviously, at the moment there is no right answer. However, there have been signs that seem to indicate other players are on the way to Anfield.

However, first, Jordan Henderson is now a Liverpool player, but what does that mean? Henderson is a great player, but Liverpool already have great central midfielders in the shape of Gerrard, Meireles, Lucas, Spearing and Shelvey.

Henderson, 20, could be a replacement for the aging Steven Gerrard, but where does that leave Lucas, Shelvey and Spearing? Henderson coming deepens our squad, but also limits other midfielders' playing time.

Also, i feel it was good for Liverpool to lose David Ngog, who has been awful. Good luck to the Frenchman, though.

So, with that deal done, who could be next?

Liverpool are set to make an improved offer for wanted Blackpool midfielder, Charlie Adam. The Scot is a main target for Kenny Dalglish, and an offer of around 10 million pounds would probably land the midfielder. However, with Adam on other teams' radars (Tottenham and Manchester United) the deal may fall into a bidding war. Also, with Henderson coming, Adam is now less of a priority.

Barcelona winger Jeffrén Suárez, 23, has been tracked by Liverpool and has an £8.3 million buyout clause in his contract. Suárez admitted to Cadena Ser (a Spanish radio station) that he was proud to be the target of big-name clubs, but he would like to stay at Barcelona ideally.

Stuart Downing is the biggest Liverpool target, with wingers a priority. Fellow Villa player (currently) Ashley Young is also a target, but is looked to be on the search for Champions League football, with Manchester United the most likely destination.

Therefore, Downing becomes the most wanted winger and is available for around eight million, after conceding that he is not sure where his future lies after refusing a contract at Villa Park.

Switzerland sensation 19-year-old Shaqiri has attracted interest from a number of top clubs including Liverpool, after a string of brilliant performances.

Phil Jones looks likely to be headed for Old Trafford, with United pipping Liverpool to the post with another signing.

Jonas Gutierrez is also looking less likely to sign for Liverpool, with Barcelona interested in the left back.

Barcelona striker Bojan is also on the Arsenal and Liverpool radar, however Barcelona claim approaches have been made for the young forward.

Should Tuchel Stay or Go? 🤔
