Arsenal FC Transfer Prospects: Could Samir Nasri Be on His Way Out?
When the season ended and Barcelona won the Champions League, everyone expected Cesc Fabregas to be at the center of another transfer saga right from the beginning.
But this has not happened yet, and Arsene Wenger remains confident his captain will stay as he says Barca have shown no interest. So this looks like it could be a good summer for Arsenal fans....or is it?
One of last season's stars, Samir Nasri, is refusing to commit himself to a new deal. Several reports claim the French star is holding out for more money. It is believed Nasri wants the same wage pay as Fabregas. Should the Frenchman fail to sign a new deal soon, he could be free next season.

Wenger has already stated he will not let players go out on a free transfer. Therefore, it seems that if Nasri does not sign soon, he could be sold for a commanding fee believed to be around £25-30 million. Bayern Munich are monitoring the situation closely and reports in the last few days said Manchester United could pounce for the midfielder.
But Wenger has quickly squashed any move to United, clearly stating he will not sell to rivals. However the news seem to show that Nasri could well be on his way out of Arsenal. Nasri is a world class player and he has massive potential, but he is not better nor more effective than Fabregas. Therefore he should be happy with £90,000 a week.
Players' greediness and their lack of patience is destroying Arsenal FC. Flamini, Diarra and Adebayor are a few names that have gone the wrong way because of these aspects; none of them have bettered their career path. Alexander Hleb destroyed his career by going to Barcelona; now he plays for no team. I think Birmingham have sent him back to Barca on loan. Hleb is sure to be sold this summer.![]()
Players need to think carefully before making these career decisions. Arsenal gives them the best platform and whenever they decide to leave, they just do what they want. That is disrespectful to the club and to the fans.
Arsenal are lacking players who have that winning mentality to win for the club and for the fans. Something the Invincible Team of 2003-2004 had in every positions on the pitch.
On a positive note, Wenger is seeking tough defenders that have Premier League experience, and it seems a deal for Christopher Samba could happen. Gervinho is going to let everyone know where he will play football next season in the forthcoming days. And Stewart Downing wants to play in the Champions League.
If Arsenal brought in Downing and Hazard, Walcott could be used as a full out-and-out striker. He could replace the departing Carlos Vela, whose Arsenal career is flaking away. If Nasri does go then Mario Goetze could be drafted in as a replacement.
This summer is going to be a massive test for Wenger and Arsenal.
