World Football: 50 Biggest Players Likely to Be on the Move This Summer
2010/2011 was a terrific season of football that thrilled, dazzled, shocked and awed every participant. From Barcelona's internal and external domination through what can only be described as some of the most beautiful football ever conveyed to Swansea City becoming the first ever Welsh team in the English Premier League and Lille achieving their first French title in 57 years whilst Birmingham City defeated Arsenal in the Carling Cup final before enduring a final day relegation.
Yes it truly was a season to remember, but unfortunately it has become a fleeting thought as almost the entire attention of World Football is shifted towards the up coming Summer Transfer Window.
Rightly so, football fans love nothing more than the whirlwind speculation of who's going where and who's leaving who for so much more. This summer is set to be one of the busiest windows yet largely due to an increasing margin of clubs enjoying heavy investments from overseas tycoons. After some of the skill, form and consistency displayed this season by certain players, there is high demand for some high calibre players ensuring what is destined to be an exciting couple of months.
However it is often difficult to establish the reality of certain rumours, after all there are so many. Some of the most ridiculous rumours emerge with ridiculous prices enabling fans to misjudge just how loyal some players are. None the less, there is usually a clear indication of who wants out and which European giant wants who.
So this slideshow conveys the 50 biggest players in World Football who have been linked with moves elsewhere. Whether the rumours will materialize is still largely unclear, but let's face it, if you're a football fan, it is still pretty exciting.
Take a look.
Denilson-Arsenal
1 of 51
Likely Destination: Sevilla for £8 million.
The Brazilian midfielder has endured a traumatic season in which the 23-year-old had his reputation and calibre diminished in the eyes of the disgruntled Arsenal fans. With the Gunners also enduring a tumltous campaign, in which their notorious trophy absence was extended for a sixth successive season despite numerous opportunities to eradicate the burden, Denilson felt the full back lash of the Arsenal faithful.
The emergence of Jack Wilshere coupled with the commanding midfield presences of captain Cesc Fabregas and renowned defensive midfielder Alexandre Song furthered by Arsene Wenger's distinct lack of rotation, the former Sao Paulo midfielder was restricted to 32 appearances and no goals for the Gunners.
Although predominantly solid without spectacular moments, when injuries to the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Alexandre Song occurred during Arsenal's toxic demise that followed after the Carling Cup defeat at the end of February. Densilon failed to perform as Arsenal began to loose their grip on their campaign, angering the fans.
The Samba star recently spoke out about his desire to depart Arsenal and the English Premier League, stating it has been his worst season ever and the Brazilian can no longer handle the disappointment. Spanish giants Sevilla are set to table a smart offer for both Denilson and Arsene Wenger. It is unlikely anyone at Arsenal will attempt to sabotage the move.
Tomasz Kuszczak-Manchester United
2 of 51
Likely Destination: Tottenham, West Bromwich Albion
The 29-year-old is undeniably a strong shot stopper who would easily become the dominant keeper at almost every other club in World Football, however there is not much Tomasz Kuszcszak can do when the renowned Edwin van der Sar is ahead of you in Manchester United's goalkeeping ratio.
Van der Sar has easily been one of the most consistent, safe and reliable keepers for the past decade restricting the Polish keeper to a mere 61 appearances for United since joining from West Bromwich Albion in 2007 for £2.125 million.
Although the Polish international has achieved both UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, League Cup and FIFA Club World Cup with Sir Alex Ferguson's giants, even playing contributing roles, Kuszczak has become frustrated with the lack of opportunities, and despite the retirement of Edwin van ver Sar, consistent playing time is unlikely to arise for the veteran keeper.
Fortunately the former Hertha BSC keeper has proven his worth in his short stints with Tottenham and former club West Bromwich Albion both eager to secure Kuszczak's services.
Fábio Coentrão-Benfica
3 of 51
Likely Destination: Real Madrid for £15-20 million

A young, quick full back who possesses impressive attacking prowess furthered by a no-nonsense defensive approach. Manchester United and Real Madrid are speculated to be the frontrunners for the young gun's signature with Coentrao expressing his desire to move to Spain rather than the EPL.
Benfica previously instilled a £25 million price tag on their left back's head, but that price is set to fade slightly.
Yohan Cabaye-Lille
4 of 51
Likely Destination: Newcastle United for £5
French giants Lille enjoyed a stunning season in which the Mastifs secured their first Ligue One trophy since 1954 before winning the Coupe de France. After their strong campaign, naturally some of their top performers are being chased by big name clubs. Demba Ba-West Ham
5 of 51
Likely Destination: Everton or Newcastle, fee undisclosed
West Ham endured a horrific season, admitting relegation before the final round. There were few positives for the Hammer's faithful but easily one bright point was the introduced presence of Demba Ba, whose pay-as-you-play transfer from 1899 Hoffenhiem provided West Ham with a lingering chance to remain in the English Premier League.
The Senegalese forward scored an impressive seven goals in 13 appearances for the London side but unfortunately was unable to save Avram Grant's men. Currently pursued by a number of clubs throughout Europe, there is almost no chance Ba will remain with West Ham but does possess intentions to remain in the Premier League.
Everton and Newcastle are allegedly leading the chase.

An intelligent, creative striker, the 23-year-old is blessed with outstanding agility and a ferocious shot. 2010/2011 saw a persistent back injury restrict Higuain to 25 appearances in which the Argentina international was still able to secure 13 goals. In 2008/2009 the Madrid forward recorded 24 goals in 44 appearances before a superb 29 goals in 40 matches last season.
However with the likely signature of Emmanuel Adebayor, who is currently on loan at the Bernabeu, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is willing to offload his efficient Argentine for around £15 million. He was consequently loaned to Bolton for the remainder of the season by Carlo Ancelotti and immediately proved his worth to English football. Thriving under Owen Coyle's management, Sturridge recorded eight goals in 12 games and excited Bolton fans with his electric pace and clinical finishing.
The English U-21 star has an uncertain future upon return to Stamford Bridge. Robin van Persie's new year form of 18 goals in 17 appearances since January, coupled with Wenger's inability to effectively rotate his young squad, has resulted in lapses of form and confidence for Bendtner, which coincided with Arsenal's horrific demise of the last three months.

Despite declaring intentions to remain in Manchester, it is understood Sir Alex Ferguson may look to utilize the 30-year-old in part of a deal with former club Tottenham that could result in Luca Modric joining United. Fortunately the 23-year-old became one of the Europe's best attacking midfielders after an incredible start to the 2010/2011 campaign.
Although his form subsided, marginally, in the latter part of the campaign, which coincided with Arsenal's demise, Nasri enjoyed a stellar season of 46 appearances and 15 goals, second on the Arsenal scoring list and recognition in the PFA Team of the Year.
However the France international now has his future under concern after contract issues have yet to be agreed at the Emirates. AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Real Madrid are all now awaiting eagerly in hopes of securing Samir Nasri.
