Missouri Football: Predicting 2011 Statistics for Missouri Offensive Players
With just over three months remaining until the 2011 college football season kicks off, it's time to look at some predictions for the upcoming year.
The Missouri Tigers return many weapons from an offense that averaged nearly 30 points per game a season ago.
TE Michael Egnew was a first-time All-American and WR T.J. Moe became a reliable receiving threat for the Tigers in 2010.
New QB James Franklin will likely take over for the departed Blaine Gabbert, bringing with him a different style to the quarterback position.
Here are my stat predictions for each individual on Missouri's offense in 2011.
Enjoy.
QB James Franklin
1 of 15
Sophomore-to-be James Franklin appears to be ready to take over the reigns from former Mizzou QB Blaine Gabbert.
He is a much different QB than Gabbert, as he is described as a pure dual-threat signal caller.
I expect him to have a very up and down season in his first year running Missouri's offense.

RB De'Vion Moore
2 of 15
Moore was the main weapon out of the backfield for the Tigers offense last season, as he scored eight touchdowns and gained 517 yards on the ground for the season.
I look for Moore's production to take a dip in '11, due to the emergence of sophomore RBs Henry Josey and Marcus Murphy.

RB Kendial Lawrence

Lawrence might be the fastest RB that Missouri currently has on their roster.
The junior has shown flashes of this in his first two seasons at Missouri, including a 71-yard TD run against Tech Tech last year.

RB Henry Josey

Henry Josey was a pleasant surprise to Mizzou's offense last year, as he contributed over 400 yards rushing and five TDs for the Tigers.
I expect his production levels to increase even more in '11.

RB Marcus Murphy
5 of 15
Murphy got the least amount of carries out of all Missouri's RBs last season, but he still managed to average over eight yards per attempt in the process.
He is very explosive, but with three solid running backs firmly in front of him on the depth chart, I don't see his numbers increasing this season.

WR T.J. Moe
6 of 15
Moe had an amazing '10 season, catching nearly 100 passes for over 1,000 yards and establishing himself as one of the best receivers in the Big 12 conference.
I expect big things out of Moe as he will be the No. 1 target for young QB James Franklin.

WR Jerrell Jackson

Jackson had his best season as a Tiger in '10, as he had over 650 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
I look for him to once again be the secondary WR target, behind T.J. Moe, for Mizzou in 2011.

WR Wes Kemp
8 of 15
The former De Smet High star has yet to make a big splash playing Division I football for Missouri.
Kemp is projected to be start once again for the Tigers this season, but its unclear how many balls will get thrown his way with a new QB in junior James Franklin.

WR Brandon Gerau
9 of 15
Gerau played in eight games last season for Missouri, and picked up 120 receiving yards during that time.
The senior wideout will likely not get an increase in playing time this season, with third-year starter Wes Kemp locking down the Z-receiver position.

WR Rolandis Woodland
10 of 15
Rolandis didn't do much last year, other than his incredible 51-yard catch against Kansas State, which is shown above.
I only look for Missouri to use him as a deep threat from time to time in '11, and nothing more.

WR Gahn McGaffie
11 of 15
McGaffie, like many receivers on this list, was rarely used in Mizzou's offense last season.
He caught only six passes on the year, and I see him having a similar role this season, as he will once again be as more of a kick return specialist.

WR L'Damian Washington
12 of 15
Washington is a big, athletic receiver that will has a chance to be a great player for the Tigers in the future.
Unfortunately for him, it probably won't be this season, as his playing time will be blocked by starter Jerrell Jackson.
G: 7
REC: 8
YDS: 55

WR Marcus Lucas
13 of 15
The local product from Liberty high has loads of talent at the wide receiver position.
Because of his 6'5" frame, I expect him to be an occasional red-zone threat when Missouri's offense gets to that part of the field this year.
G: 8
REC: 9
YDS: 70
AVG: 7.8

TE Michael Egnew
14 of 15
Egnew had a breakout season for the Tigers in 2010, as was named a first-team All-American after he had 90 catches for 762 yards and five TDs.
I expect Egnew to build on his efforts from last season and have an even stronger '11 season.
G: 13
REC: 70
YDS: 800
AVG: 10.4

TE Eric Waters
15 of 15
Waters is a very talented sophomore TE that has quickly moved his way up the depth chart in his short time at Missouri.
I expect to only see him in the field when Missouri opts to go to two tight end sets this season.

REC: 8
YDS: 60
