Drew Brees and 5 Other New Orleans Saints Who Will Make the 2011 Pro Bowl
You can almost pencil him in for the 2011 Pro Bowl—assuming there is a 2011 season. His name is Drew Brees, and that's just what he does. Since joining the Saints he's been to the Pro Bowl in all but one season.
So writing him in for 2011 really isn't much of a reach.
But saying there will be five other Saints in the Pro Bowl? Some may say no, but with the talent on this roster, it is fully possible. And in my opinion, only a poor season could stop such a thing from happening.
So who are the other five? Read along to find out.
WR Marques Colston

If there's a more underrated receiver in the game, would he please raise his hand? Colston has never made a Pro Bowl despite having better statistical seasons than some invitees of the perennial Hawaii party.
With the Saints looking like they'll be more committed to the running game in 2011, Colston's catches may not be as high as in previous seasons, but his touchdown number will likely increase with added red-zone opportunities.
As a huge Colston supporter, I can only hope he capitalizes on the opportunities.
LG Carl Nicks

Despite being drafted low and taking a year to break the starting lineup, Nicks has become one of the best guards in all of football in a very short time.
Teammate Jahri Evans might have something to say about who is better, but there is little doubt that Nicks knows what he's doing in the trenches.
RG Jahri Evans

Rare is it when you speak of a right guard as one of the top offensive linemen in football, but rarely has that player been as consistent at the position as Evans since beginning in the starting lineup Game 1 of his first season.
All Evans has done since then is lead the Saints offensive line to become one of the best pass-protection units and done an admirable job in the run game, considering just how dependent the Saints are on the pass.
MLB Jonathan Vilma
4 of 5
Few are as consistent at any position as Vilma is for the Saints in the middle of their defense. He is the Drew Brees of the defense, really, in all phases.
Vilma's numbers don't even do him justice, though they are generally enough to get him elected to the Pro Bowl as an alternate. We all know, though, that winning games and overall success help any player's chances of making the roster for Hawaii.
It shouldn't surprise any of us if Vilma is able to do it once again in 2011.
S Malcolm Jenkins

In 2010, Jenkins took over the safety job opposite Roman Harper—and shined brightly.
His lasting memory from 2010 will be his strip of Cowboys receiver Roy Williams near the end of the Thanksgiving Day game, which ended up propelling the Saints to an improbably victory.
But Jenkins' play was so much more. If he merely follows up in his third campaign as a Saint, the media will likely recognize his efforts.
