Forcier and Johnson Prove That Some Kids Dont Deserve to Be Hurricanes

Bleacher ReportMay 25, 2011

The Miami Hurricanes are all about family, hard work, and dedication.

The coaches in Coral Gables understand that, and when they recruit, they not only look at grades and athletic ability, but they also look at character.

Apparently Storm Johnson and Tate Forcier didn't understand what they wanted when they showed interest in being a Hurricane.

First it was Johnson, a running back with quick feet and amazing field vision that certainly had every opportunity to be another Hurricane running back legend.

Last year, Randy Shannon should have noticed something when Johnson refused to red-shirt his freshman year.

Instead they gave Storm some opportunity at running back and special teams.

He ended the season with high hopes of a bright future by running the ball nine times for 119 yards and a touchdown.

This spring, as Golden stated, he was not doing as well as Lamar Miller and Mike James, and he was placed at third string behind them.

Apparently that was the last straw, as Storm decided to transfer because he missed his family, which was a flat out lie.

Even Storm's father stated that the Canes backfield was too crowded for his son.

Now rumor has it that he missed being so far away from his family in Georgia, that he is thinking about going to UCF.

Yes, UCF in Orlando, which is just a couple hundred miles north of Miami and still hundreds of miles away from his family in Georgia.

Forcier is another player that wanted to play at Miami, until competition arose by Miami getting another transfer in Ryan Williams, from Memphis.

Forcier decided to pull his transfer from Miami due to, "being too far away from my family in San Diego."

Although it is now reported that Forcier is wanting to play at Auburn, really?

Since when is Auburn close to California?

The only reason Forcier and Johnson aren't playing in Miami this year is they are afraid of competition.

Forcier proved that last year when he was beat out by Denard Robinson, while Johnson proved it this year when he was beat out by James and Miller.

Honestly, I was happy when I heard Forcier and Johnson were Hurricanes because they could bring a lot to the table, they have great athletic ability, and in a year or so, both players had the chance to be starters.

It's a shame they were too stuck on themselves instead of the team.

I hope wherever they go, they will find themselves and realize they aren't just going to get handed the position, they have to work hard for them.

I am now glad they are gone, as they don't have what it takes to wear that "U" on their helmets.
