Should Taj Gibson Start and Carlos Boozer Come off the Bench for the Bulls?
With all of the out cry from fans and the constant criticism from the media, Carlos Boozer has been the most blamed Chicago Bull when a game has went sour for Chicago this postseason.
Boozer has been experiencing slow starts for the majority of the postseason, which usually carries over for the entire game, resulting in Boozer putting up less than stellar numbers.
With the Bulls relying on him to compliment Derrick Rose with scoring the ball, the slow starts Boozer has had really hurt the Bulls, usually resulting in Chicago playing catch-up in most of the games.
The spark the Bulls have benefited from is Taj Gibson. He comes in, hustles, grabs boards and has been a more reliable player this postseason than Boozer has.
With the way Gibson has played, I believe the Bulls could benefit from starting him and having Boozer come off the bench once the game has a flow to it.
This would alleviate some pressure that Boozer must be feeling as he starts games off slower than he is accustomed to.
If Boozer really wants to be a team player, he should have no problem with Thibodeau switching the lineup a bit to see if they can counteract the poor starts the Bulls have experienced throughout the playoffs.
This could get Boozer's confidence in his game back up to where it should be.
Once it's back up, inserting him back into the starting line-up should be seamless, and benefit Boozer more than he might think.
It's not guaranteed that this plan will be a success, but with the way Boozer is playing this playoff season, trying anything to boost his play will not hurt the Bulls more than he already has.
