College Football 2011: Rimington Trophy Watch List Unveiled

The second college football player award watch list for the 2011 season has been released. The committee in charge of the Rimington Trophy, awarded to the top center n college football, released their initial watch list Thursday, and it includes 14 players from last season's watch list.

A total of 42 players have made the list, including four sophomores. South Carolina's T.J. Johnson, Travis Swanson of Arkansas, Colorado State's Weston Richburg, Utah State's Tyler Larsen, and New Mexico's Dillon Farrell are the youngest players on the watch list, all being listed as sophomores. Here is the full watch list:

College Football Playoff National Championship: Head Coaches News Conference

TCU's Jake Kirkpatrick was awarded the Rimington Trophy in 2010. Kirkpatrick became the first player from a non-AQ conference to win the award. The committee deciding on the winner takes in to account the AFCA, Walter Camp Foundation, The Sporting News, and the Football Writers Association of America All-American teams as a foundation for evaluation.The center with the most first-team votes wins the trophy. A majority vote from the committee is used to break a tie if possible.

The Rimington Trophy has been awarded since 2000. Here is a list of the previous winners.
