Plaxico Burress: The 5 Places You Won't See the Troubled Ex-Giants WR in 2011
Wide receiver Plaxico Burress has been locked away in prison since September of 2009 after he accidentally shot himself in a New York City nightclub.
Burress is scheduled for release June 6, 2011 and already the suitors are lining up for his services in the 2011 season.
While the potential landing spots of Burress make for great analysis, where are the cities that you can bet Burress won't be playing in 2011?
1. New England Patriots

The New England Patriots need an outside wide receiver to stretch the field, but don't count on Bill Belichick calling Plaxico Burress any time soon.
Belichick proved in 2010 that he will ship out a malcontent, just ask Randy Moss.
What the Patriots don't need is an aging wide receiver who has been in a prison cell for almost two years.
They also are not the type of club to enjoy the media attention that signing Burress will bring.
2. Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are desperate to add a true No. 1 wide receiver for second-year quarterback Colt McCoy, but are they desperate enough to expose McCoy to Plaxico Burress?
Let's not forget that Burress was far from a model citizen or teammate before he took a loaded handgun into a nightclub and accidentally shot himself in the leg.
According to the Associated Press, Burress has been sued at least nine times since he joined the NFL in 2000.
That is not the type of player you want working with your young quarterback.
3. Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton figures to be thrown into the fire as an NFL rookie. He is coming from an offense at Auburn that did not ask him to make reads, call plays in the huddle or really do any pre-snap thinking.
Newton will have enough pressure on him as the No. 1 overall pick in Carolina, adding a wide receiver known for demanding the ball will only make life worse for Cam Newton and the Panthers.
The Panthers will need a No. 1 wide receiver if they trade Steve Smith, which seems likely. Plaxico Burress just is not that player.
4. Tennesee Titans
4 of 5
The Titans are in a similar situation as the Cleveland Browns. With a young quarterback on the roster it is simply not a good fit for Plaxico Burress.
The Titans also have their own troubled wide receiver to deal with in Kenny Britt.
Tennessee does need a wide receiver, but they are a much more likely landing spot for a Vincent Jackson or Sidney Rice-type player.
5. St. Louis Rams
5 of 5
The St. Louis Rams need a big, tall receiver to stretch the field vertically for stud sophomore quarterback Sam Bradford.
They also need someone who can fit within the chemistry of the locker room and contribute to Bradford's growth as a player.
If you look at the Rams roster you will notice many young players, especially in leadership roles. Who on this team would be a strong enough leader to reign in Burress?
