Liverpool FC: Top 5 Teenagers Rumored to Join the Reds in the Summer
The verdict is out. Kenny Dalglish and Steve Clark have been appointed on a permanent basis at the Liverpool helm for the next three years. With John W. Henry as the principal owner at the club having taken such long term decision and with the next season now a priority, the trio of Damien Comolli, Dalglish and Clark look set to take on the transfer market by storm.
Also, as is clear from the recent recruitment policy confirmed by the Reds, hiring the youth seems to be the central theme of action. Now with all the rumors doing the rounds about possible Liverpool targets, the eye for young and promising talents is certainly one to watch out for.
Here I have enumerated a list of teenagers who have been linked with a move to Anfield in very recent times, and I genuinely expect Liverpool to show interest in more than one player from the following in the upcoming summer market.
Connor Wickham, Age 18, Current Club: Ipswich Town

Liverpool FC's Director of Football strategy has made no secret to go after promising young English players. Connor Wickham, who has been on the Liverpool FC radar for quite some time, fits the foresaid bill perfectly.
The promising England 18-year-old striker hailed as "the new Rooney" has already received rave reviews all around England and even top Premier League clubs.
The player is already a regular for his club and has scored 13 goals for the club. Also as is reported in some corners, Liverpool's third choice striker David N'gog may be sold by the club, and if that be the case, Wickham maybe an ideal replacement with all his first team experience.
Phil Jones, Age 18, Current Club: Blackburn Rovers

Yet another among the most promising talents in England, Phil Jones is also rumored to be on the Liverpool radar. Liverpool FC scouts were recently spotted at Ewood Park to watch a few Blackburn's home encounters, and this has sparked the rumors all the more.
Phil Jones, the 18-year-old centre back, has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham etc... in the past, and now Liverpool seems to be firmly in the race too.
It can be thought that with Liverpool needing to add a centre back to their squad and with the race to sign the more experienced defender Gary Cahill getting heated up, signing Jones could be a more feasible option.
Kevin De Bruyne, Age 19, Club: KRC Genk,Belgium

Widely considered as another one among the highly talented players in Belgium, this U-19 star striker has attracted interest from all over Europe.
With recent interests also from Manchester City, Liverpool may suffer a setback if City are serious about the Belgian starlet. However, the 19-year-old is reported to have interested Damien Comolli, but whether he can convince Liverpool to bid for the player remains to be seen.
De Bruyne has already scored five goals for Genk in 36 appearances for the club.
Dennis De Praet, Age 16, Club: Anderlecht
4 of 5
This central midfielder is yet another promising Belgian starlet and is considered arguably the hottest property in Belgium in his age group. Dennis Praet, has keenly been followed by Inter Milan, Manchester United and even Arsenal in recent days.
The 16-year-old now looks to have yet another potential suitor in Liverpool FC. Praet is widely claimed as the "New Sneijder" for his style of play, however, he has not had much success in goal-scoring ways of the Dutch star.
Dennis though, is only a youngster and clearly has a lot of time to make his mark even more.
Phillipe Coutinho, Age 18, Current Club: Inter Milan
5 of 5
In what could be one of the best young buys of the summer, Phillipe Coutinho is reportedly a Liverpool FC target in the summer.
This 18-year-old Brazilian obviously has shown glimpses of his great potential in his short stint so far at Inter. Coutinho, who plays mainly as an attacking midfielder is widely considered as one of highly talented teenagers from South America playing in Europe.
Some recent reports suggest that Damien Comolli and Liverpool are very keen on the player, who though talented, has been an under-rated talent and thus may cost much less than most other European counter parts like Hazard and Lukaku who might be involved in big money moves away from their present club this summer.
