Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard Could Be the Key for Phil Jackon's Last Run
For the past couple of years, Phil Jackson has been throwing the term "retirement" around.
With his favored Lakers getting swept by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the playoffs, Phil still walked off the court for the last time with a smile on his face. But deep down, does Phil know the answer for a potential final run next year?
With tons of questions about the big men of L.A (Bynum, Odom, and Gasol) and their lack of effort against the Mavericks, the Lakers roster really showed their flaws that Jackson needs to polish. Nobody likes a Brett Favre, but I don't think the country would mind if Phil gave one last run.
How about fancying the thought of Dwight Howard in gold and purple? Yes, it's been said. Everyone knows that Dwight isn't happy anymore in Orlando, simply because he needs more weapons with him. What better way to satisfy his needs than Kobe Bryant?
That combination would be more effective than any combination in the league, shadowing the Shaq-Kobe era that won three titles together.
The soon to be free agent Dwight Howard would be a great fit in L.A, giving them that extra umph that they lack. Money can buy anything, even Superman. I'm sure Dwight smiles to the thought of playing along side that No. 8; who wouldn't?
One thing is for sure—out of Bynum, Gasol, and Odom, two of them will be gone next year. I think that landing the All-Star free agent will certainly make Phil want one last shot at a title, because nobody wants to end their career being swept
