Ray Allen Video: Watch Celtics Guard Dunk Over Miami Heat's Chris Bosh
The Boston Celtics are universally considered the elder statesmen of the league. Seemingly the entire team has been in the league for at least five years.
The Big Three are all in their mid-30s—so they aren't exactly the top highlight team anymore. But every once in awhile they find that extra bit of juice to make a spectacular play.
On Monday night it was the 35-year-old Ray Allen that made the jaw-dropping dunk.
With around 6:30 remaining in the third quarter and the Celtics down two, Allen went backdoor on Dwyane Wade, received a pass from Kevin Garnett and took care of the rest.
He catches the pass and slams it down with some serious authority over the Heat's Chris Bosh. Allen dunks the ball with one hand and swings back-and-forth on the rim like a monkey.
It was a rare Allen dunk, but a sweet one.
It was a small reminder that the Celtics may be old, but all of them had incredible athleticism at one point in time and they can still make the top-10 plays.
As the Heat take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Celtics, this may be the final time we see Boston challenging for a NBA title. But Allen's dunk over Bosh proves that the are still capable of greatness.
Problem is, rarely do we see that more than once a game. That's the problem with Boston, they have all of the tools, but they can't put them together for four straight quarters against a younger and fresher Heat squad.
And for Bosh...well, I think he is still working out those nerves from Game 3.
