NBA Playoffs 2011: Memphis Grizzlies Prepare for Midnight

 So far the Memphis Grizzlies have been the Cinderella story of this years NBA Play-offs.  Game five Cinderella was exposed, The Oklahoma City Thunder dominated the Grizzlies from start to finish.

If this was a UFC fight the Grizzlies would have surely had to tap out.  Memphis fans may disagree but last night we saw this Memphis team finally showed why they are an eight seed.

  Monday night's triple over time loss was more than just a loss.  This loss was for the series, it was a hard fact of reality.  The overtime loss took this young Grizzlies team spirit.

The loss has in fact carried over and for those of you afraid to say it I will.  This series is officially a wrap, yes over, done, finished. Historically 83 percent of teams that win game 5 win the series.

 Memphis looks as if they are slowly losing their confidence against a Thunder team who's riding high with confidence. 

The story was fun while it lasted but reality always seems to rear its head sooner or later.  Unfortunately for the Grizzlies it is sooner this time.

Yes the Grizzlies will go home and ride their home crowd but the overtime loss sealed their fate.  Each game these teams have played Oklahoma City has seemed to only get better. 

They have taken the Grizzlies toughest blow and been able to still deliver.  I expect the Grizzlies to be more energetic and focused but it won't be enough.

So now we say good-bye to Cinderella, what a story she has been-- can you see her?  She is tired, beat, and unfortunately--the clock has struck midnight.
