College Football 2011: Spring Tweeting, the Preseason Top 25 in 140 Characters

What better way to summarize spring practices than with a "tweet."

Catching up with Notre Dame, Oregon and Ohio State football in 140 characters or less is a tall task, but it can be done.

It's too bad Penn State is not in the top 25; there is potential for some interesting JoePa tweets there.

QB Osweiler has potential. Offense scrimmaged well. Injury Bolden hurts, but LB Vontaze Burfict has stepped up.  Burfict is a scary, crazy man.

24. West Virginia Mountaineers

Holgorsen's offense plays to team's strengths. Geno Smith dark horse Heisman candidate?

23. Auburn Tigers

Moseley and Trotter still locked up tight in competition. No Newton, no Fairley, big problems.

22. Missouri Tigers

Franklin leading QB battle, Coach Pinkel hopes TE Egnew comes back from injury quickly. T.J. Moe still very, very good.

21. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Mullen shrouds Bumphis injury in mystery. Ballard and Relf going to be tough to stop. No more violations = success...

20. Texas Longhorns

It's a long road back. New coordinators having moderate success, Garret Gilbert, not so much. Another McCoy at QB?

19. Virginia Tech Hokies

Logan Thomas and David Wilson headline offense primed for success. Edwards making strides at LB. Beamer looking for more defensive playmakers.

18. Florida Gators

Muschamp has emphasized defense. It has improved. New offense has not helped Brantley. QB change in future?

17. Notre Dame

Reports of Crist's comfort with offense exaggerated. Floyd needs to come back. Cierre Wood a monster.

16. Michigan State Spartans

Spartans finding it tough to replace star LBs. Offense going to be explosive, if Cousins can solve consistency issues.

15. TCU Horned Frogs

Sam Carter emerging as great talent at safety. Pachall adequate to replace Dalton, while LB Carder rehabbing injury, expected back in fall.

14. Wisconsin Badgers

Backup QB Phillips re-injures knee. Trotter twins welcome additions. Offense anemic in spring game, defense progressing.

13. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Frosh WR Turner incredibly explosive. Defense scary good, especially at LB. Coach Pelini led the team in apoplectic fits during practice.

12. Arkansas Razorbacks

Childs, Wright, Adams and Hamilton formidable group of receivers for Tyler Wilson to toss the ball too. No Ryan Mallet, no problem.

11. Texas AM Aggies

LBs not as talented as last season but adequate. Michael and Gray emerge as dangerous backfield duo.

10. Ohio State Buckeyes

In spite of losses, defense looked great. Offense still one big "?" Bauserman leads QB race while Pryor serves suspension.

9. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Weeden and Blackmon lead explosive offense. O-Line deserves all the credit; those boys are stout. Still no defense.

8. South Carolina Gamecocks

Clowney makes instant impact.Garcia suspended indefinitely. Offense very good, defense progressing. Marcus Lattimore poised for big fall.

7. Stanford Cardinal

Martin and DeCastro lead reloaded O-Line. Ryan Hewitt an apt replacement for Marecic at FB, and the Cardinal have the Heisman front-runner.

6. Florida State Seminoles

Coach Fisher absent for significant amounts of time. Best wishes to Fisher family. Bradham and Jenkins set to lead dominating defense.

5. Boise State Broncos

Offense looks explosive...again. DE Tyrone Crawford looks primed to take over. Frosh QB Grant Hedrick the exciting future of Bronco football.

4. LSU Tigers

Jordan Jefferson progressing into a consistent QB. Ware leading RB to take over for Ridley. MLB Kevin Minter less than stellar.

3. Oregon Ducks

New defense looks cohesive. RBs need adhesive on hands, too many fumbles. Chip Kelly still crazy.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide

Safety Mark Barron is a freak of nature. Nick Saban's hat is ridiculous. Bear Bryant he is not. QB battle tight between McCarron and Sims.

1. Oklahoma Sooners

RB position a conglomerate of talent, no clear front-runner, but regardless of who emerges, the O-line will pave the way to a big season.
