EPL: Will Arsene Wenger Bring Porto Hitman Radamel Falcao to the Emirates?

Shehryar KhanApr 14, 2011

FC Porto hitman Radamel Falcao is attracting the interest of Arsene Wenger after a string of impressive performances for the Portuguese giants this season.

The 25-year-old who came through the ranks at River Plate has turned into a prolific striker after his move to Portugal and has scored 10 times in this season's Europa League including a hat trick in last weeks 5-1 Europa League victory over Spartak Moscow.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is eager to sign a striker to strengthen his forward line and could be tempted into making a move for the Colombian.

A summer clearout at Emirates is likely with Nicklas Bendtner, Emmanuel Eboue, Tomas Rosicky and Gael Clichy. The departures are expected to make way for new signings in an attempt to wrestle for the title with the likes of Manchester United and big spenders Manchester City and Chelsea

Clubs in Germany are interested in snapping up Nicholas Bendtner and Wenger might be tempted to sell the player and use the cash to get his man.

Falcao has revealed he is keen to stay at Porto should they qualify for the Champions League next season. Yet, the club would have to consider a bid if his £15 million valuation is met as it could ensure the long term sustainability of the Portuguese club.

Aston Villa have also reportedly shown interest in the striker and are keen to add to their current setup after a difficult campaign with shortage in the striking department upfront this season.
