11. Houston Texans—Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska
Right now Houston has the tools on offense to be a contender for quite a long time. The defense, however, is...well...awful. Without any form of pass defense, a big playmaker like Prince Amukamara might be able to put this team over the hump when paired with the pass-rushing abilities of Mario Williams.
12. Minnesota Vikings—Robert Quinn DE North Carolina
Minnesota's defense wasn't all that bad in 2010, ranking eighth overall in total yards allowed, but with a lack of offensive playmakers, and the aging of the Defensive Line, it wouldn't hurt to have a player like Robert Quinn plugged in. If Jared Allen can get back to form, this could be a great tandem for the Vikings.
13. Detroit Lions—J.J. Watt DE Wisconsin
J.J. Watt began his college career at Central Michigan, so many Lions fans are familiar with the former Chippewa. It's unsure of how long Kyle Vanden Bosch will be able to play at a high level, and once he's done, a Defensive Line with Ndamukong Suh and J.J. Watt will make the Lions defense respectable for years to come.
14. St. Louis Rams—Corey Liuget DT Illinois
The Rams showed much improvement in 2010, but without any playmakers, it doesn't look like they will be a Super Bowl contender for a couple more years. Drafting Sam Bradford first overall last year as a good start, and he needs targets, but this is a defensive draft. Liuget will be able to plug some holes and replace Fred Robbins when the time comes.
15. Miami Dolphins—Mark Ingram RB Alabama
The Dolphins are in a tough spot here. In a draft loaded with Defensive Ends, they have one of the best already in Cameron Wake, so it doesn't make sense to draft another one this early. Ricky Williams could be done at any point, and Ronnie Brown doesn't look like the same Running Back that he did when his career started. Ingram has some knee issues but is still talented enough to take a flyer on at this point in the draft.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars—Muhammad Wilkerson DE Temple
Wilkerson wasn't exactly a popular pick when the 2010 season ended, but he has been flying up draft boards left and right. The Jaguars are in desperate need of a pass rusher and Wilkerson should be able to fill the need.
17. New England Patriots—Anthony Castonzo OT Boston College
Matt Light may not be returning to the Patriots in 2011, and priority number one is to protect Tom Brady at all costs. It doesn't seem fair that a team that went 14-2 in the regular season gets the number 17 pick overall, but Belichick is smarter than all of us.
18. San Diego Chargers—Aldon Smith DE Missouri
The Chargers need some serious help at Defensive End despite being the number one ranked offense and defense in the NFL. They're going pretty far down the Defensive End pool by drafting Smith, but if you have a need, you have to fill it.
19. New York Giants—Nate Solder OT Colorado
The Giants need a Linebacker more than they need an Offensive Tackle, but taking Akeem Ayers would be a reach at this point. Solder fills a need, so he is the pick for now. I wouldn't be surprised if the G-Men wanted to trade down a little lower in the first round.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers—Cameron Jordan DE California
If there's one thing the Bucs need, it's a Defensive End. This is the draft to do it. There is a possibility they could trade up to get one a little higher up the board, but if they stay at 20, then Cameron Jordan is the guy.
21. Kansas City Chiefs—Gabe Carimi OT Wisconsin
It's tough to believe that Jamaal Charles would actually need more holes to run through, but with a young Defensive Line, they should go Offense here. The Tackles are a weaker spot for the Chiefs and Carimi is the highest rated one left.
22. Indianapolis Colts—Mike Pouncey C/G Florida
The Colts need some Offensive Line help if they ever want to rush the ball and keep Peyton Manning's ironman streak alive. Pouncey is by far the best Offensive Line prospect left on the board and should be heading to Indianapolis.
23. Philadelphia Eagles—Akeem Ayers LB UCLA
Now may be the time to take Akeem Ayers. The Eagles need Offensive Line help, that's for sure, but a solid linebacker also makes sense in this spot. There is also the possibility to trade up for an Offensive Lineman, or down for a Cornerback.
24. New Orleans Saints—Adrian Clayborn DE Iowa
Tired of the Defensive Ends, yet? There's a reason that so many will be taken in the First Round, because they're that good. The Saints need a younger pass rusher and Clayborn fits the hole.
25. Seattle Seahawks—Jake Locker QB Washington
It seems like everyone has Locker going at this spot to the Seahawks. It just makes sense. The Seahawks need a franchise Quarterback to eventually replace Matt Hasselbeck. Locker is the local fan-favorite and the 12th man should be happy (for the time being) with the pick.
26. Baltimore Ravens—Kyle Rudolph TE Notre Dame
Todd Heap is starting to get up there in age. Rudolph is a prototype NFL Tight End who can stretch the field for Joe Flacco. The Ravens don't need a whole lot of help, so taking a Tight End at this point isn't absurd. Plus, Notre Dame has produced better Tight Ends than Quarterbacks in the last twenty years.
27. Atlanta Falcons—Ryan Kerrigan DE Purdue
The Falcons, as good as they were in 2010, had just 31 sacks last year. Upgrading the Defense to go along with the already talented and young offense could make the Falcons a Super Bowl favorite in 2011.
28. New England Patriots—Justin Houston LB Georgia
Again, there aren't many needs for the Patriots. Every pick seems to be a success and Houston should be no exception. Houston is a good 3-4 linebacker that could add some great depth to a Defense that could use a little help.
29. Chicago Bears—Derek Sherrod OT Mississippi State
After Jay Cutler's injury in the NFC Championship Game, you can bet that the Bears are going with an Offensive Lineman here. We've seen what the Bears are like without Cutler, and the Bears don't want to go through that again.
30. New York Jets—Phil Taylor DT Baylor
Taylor is a big boy, and you can bet that Rex Ryan has his eye on him. The Defense is already one of the best in the NFL, but plugging the Nose Tackle position in a 3-4 would make them downright scary.
31. Pittsburgh Steelers—Aaron Williams CB Texas
When looking at playoff teams, you have to see what got them eliminated. Greg Jennings and Aaron Rodgers put on a show against the Steelers pass Defense in Super Bowl XLV and I'm sure the Steelers don't forget it.
32. Green Bay Packers—Ryan Williams RB Virginia Tech
There's not doubt the Packers can pass the ball. If Donald Driver and James Jones don't return next year, the Pack may be going with a receiver. For now, I would guess that the Packers would like to add another rusher with Ryan Grant's inconsistency and James Starks' potential.
