Jim Tressel and Ohio State Are Liars: The NCAA Hammer Will Fall Hard
Nixon's break into the Watergate Hotel was no big deal—the cover up and lies is what undid him as President.
The Reggie Bush fiasco at USC was made much worse by Pete Carroll turning a blind eye to all that was going on and then trying to hide the facts.
The NCAA comes down much harder when a coach and school look them in the eye and lie to their face.
Now, we know Tressel and OSU are liars. You can't spin this any other way. You can't say Tressel was confused, didn't know all the facts or forgot.
He's a liar.
Yes, he's a good coach, but he's now a major liability to Ohio State and he's now a known cheater and liar in the worst way. Rather than risk losing a few games now, he was "all in" and may lose his job.
He's already lost his reputation.
Today, SportsbyBrooks published the emails from Tressel himself that show without question he was well aware of the events of "Tatgate" well before admitting to it—well before the season started—and lied to the NCAA about it while looking them squarely in the eye.
This could make each player ineligible for the whole season and cause OSU for lose every win on their record for last year.
It has already made them a black eye to the Big Ten and college football.
The only thing to do now is watch how Tressel and OSU try and spin it.
