Real Madrid Give Pepe Ultimatum: Could We See Him in Premier League Next Season?
MADRID, SPAIN- Spanish giants Real Madrid have told center back Pepe if he doesn't accept their contract renewal offer by the summer, the Portuguese international will be sold to the best bidder.
Pepe had signed a five-year contract, and was bought for a fee of €30 million back in July of 2007. It has been reported the former FC Porto star sacrificed a part of his salary because of the massive transfer fee, making him one of the lowest paid players in Madrid at €1.8 million a year.
Pepe has been negotiating with the Galacticos for most of this season, but the organization has so far refused to meet his financial demands, with the center back demanding a wage increase to €3.8 million.

Real Madrid have reported a €3.5 million offer as being their last for Pepe and sending him a very blunt message; take it or leave it!
Clubs abroad have been very attentive to the drama surrounding the Brazilian born turned Portuguese defender. Reports of Chelsea, Manchester City and even Arsenal being admirers of Pepe and possible destinations of the 28-year-old.
There is no doubt Pepe is one of the best center backs in the world and can excel in the fast-paced English game. Although he has had issues with injuries to his knees, Pepe has had good form all season and hopefully will not let the talks of him being shipped off affect his performance, which could eventually lead to the decision of his departure.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is preparing to clean house this summer, stating that seven players will be sold, and Pepe could now easily be on the top of that list.
Jose Mourinho had a neutral outlook on the situation stating, "The team is at it's best when Pepe plays. The team with Pepe is not afraid to leave spaces at the back. Pepe is an excellent player who has one year left on his contract, so for me this issue is not a concern today."
Madrid have recently been rumored to have their eye on Milan centre back Thiago Silva and Wolfsburg youngster Simon Kjaer as possible replacements if Pepe leaves Spain at the end of the season.
Will €300,000 make a big enough difference for Pepe between staying and going? Or will the center back come to his senses accept the offer and remain a Merengue?
