Georgia Tech-Boston College: Unstoppable Run vs. Immovable Line

Boston College vs. Georgia Tech

Line: BC -7
Over/Under: 38.5

Both teams open up their conference play after resounding Week One victories. Paul Johnson's offense has been unstoppable at times in his coaching career and nothing changed in his first game as the Jackets head coach. However, his offense will go up against one of the biggest and best defensive lines in the nation in Boston College.
Keys to the Game
1. Rushing Totals

Johnson is a big believer in running the ball and stopping the run as a key to winning games. Ga. Tech had over seven yards per carry last week against Jacksonville State on the way to 349 yards rushing. BC had 230 yards on the ground, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

The Yellow Jackets allowed 122 yards rushing, but that equated to 3.9 per carry. The Eagles allowed 3.5 per carry on 126 total rushing yards. The Eagles have a big size and experience advantage when their defensive line goes up against Tech’s offensive line. Last season, BC’s defense was a big reason whey they won in Atlanta last season.

2. Turnovers

Both of these coaches stress not beating yourself with turnovers. BC got three turnovers from Kent State and did not give the ball up. Tech fumbled five times last week and lost two of them, but they did intercept two from former SEC championship game MVP Ryan Perrilloux. Both teams will run a little bit of option football, so fumbles are prone on pitches.

Prediction
I think this one could be a really close game that comes right down to the end. If it is going to be a blowout, it will be in favor of BC largely because of turnovers by Georgia Tech and the home field against a young team.
I think Tech will run the ball fairly well, but will have to rely on the pass to get some key first downs. I think Boston College’s size and experience on defense gives the Eagles the slight edge in this one.
