College Football 2011 Predictions: 10 DEs Who Could Rack Up 10+ Sacks in 2011

Kelsey AlumbaughJun 7, 2018

Sacking a quarterback is something to get excited about.

With the 2011 college football season approaching, the strongest defensive ends are going to be in the spotlight. Potential for 10 or more quarterback sacks in the upcoming season can be seen in these 10 defensive ends.

Let's see which players may get their opportunity to shine.

Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina

1 of 10

Clowney is a talented athlete. He had 29.5 sacks in 2010. I think he could potentially get 10 sacks in his upcoming season with South Carolina.

Ray Drew, Georgia

2 of 10

Drew had 2.5 of the East's 12 sacks in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, according to Mike Herndon of the Press-Register. He was a 5-star recruit who will be attending Georgia in the fall.

Jermauria Rasco, Louisiana State University

3 of 10

Rasco had 21 sacks during his senior high school football season. He's 6'3" and 249 pounds, a good sized defensive end.

Sterling Bailey, Georgia

4 of 10

Bailey had one sack for the East in the U.S. Army game. He's 6'5" and 239 pounds. He's a good-sized player with the potential to get 10 sacks in the upcoming season.

Anthony Chickillo, Miami (FL)

5 of 10

Chickillo had 18 sacks in his last season. He has signed with Miami (FL). I think he could have the potential to get at least 10 sacks.

Ishaq Williams, Notre Dame

6 of 10

Williams is a 4-star recruit who is a good-sized player. He averaged half a sack per game his senior year, according to Maxpreps.com. It may not seem like much, but I think he has the capability to get 10 sacks this season.

Jalen Grimble, Miami (FL)

7 of 10

Grimble is a 4-star recruit who signed with Miami (FL).  He's a good player who has the potential to improve and possibly get 10 sacks this coming season.

AC Leonard, Florida

8 of 10

Leonard signed with Florida for the 2011 football season. He's a 4-star recruit with the potential to get some sacks for the Gators.

Aaron Lynch, Notre Dame

9 of 10

Lynch signed with Notre Dame. He could stand to bulk up, but he could possibly rack up 10 sacks in 2011.

Stephon Tuitt, Notre Dame

10 of 10

Tuitt also has potential as a strong defensive end for Notre Dame. He could possibly rack up 10 sacks.

I know the likelihood of so many players from the same team all getting 10 sacks is low. These players just seemed to stand out for having a good amount of talent.
