Glen "Big Baby" Davis and the 10 Worst Dunk Fails of the Season

Adam LazarusJun 1, 2018

Glen "Big Baby" Davis Joins A Not-So-Elite Club

Glen "Big Baby" Davis gave us as an another entry in the epic fail club.

In a potential Eastern Conference Finals preview, the Celtics defeated the Miami Heat.

And the Celts reserve forward from LSU was a key factor in the win. Davis dropped in 16 points and four boards as Boston won at home, 85-82.

But his greatest contribution, at least to the world of NBA gawkers, came with a fast break that was anything but fast and anything but successful.

Check out Big Baby's Big Blunder and all the best (or are they the worst) failed dunks thus far in the 2010-11 NBA season.

No. 10: Will Bynum, November 17, 2010

1 of 10

We'd like to cut Bynum a break on this one. The man is only 6'0" and 185 pounds.

Despite his size, he's got hops, and on this fast break against the Lakers, he showed that.

But if you're gonna get up and try to score one for all the little men out there in a big man's game, you've gotta finish!!

No. 9: Blake Griffin, November 12, 2010

2 of 10

The former Sooner is becoming a major superstar.

He's a double-double machine and has given the Clippers a decent star to compete against Kobe Bryant.

But after missing an entire year with his knee injury, he's still working out some of the kinks.

Griffin was fouled, but still had a clear path to the basket. Hard knocks for the rookie. Literally.

No. 8: Trevor Ariza, Januay 3, 2011

3 of 10

(Fast forward to 1 minute, 40 second mark)

Credit the backboard with an incredible block of the Hornets Trevor Ariza. Congratulations, Spalding!

No. 7: JaVale McGee, December 8, 2010

4 of 10

You're already down 25 points against the 5-15 Washington Wizards.

But McGee couldn't let the game end with dignity.

Give him credit for not giving up and making the steal, but leave the Michael Jordan dunks to Michael Jordan.

No. 6: Hedo Turkoglu, December 21, 2010

5 of 10

When you think Hedo Turkoglu, you think about smooth shooting from the outside, especially from beyond the arc. Thunderous dunks aren't really a part of his repertoire.

But no matter what, at 6'10" player doesn't get our sympathy when they miss a dunk so close to the hoop with no one in front.

That rim just always gets in the way.

No. 5: Andre Iguodala, February 8, 2011

6 of 10

If you're going to showboat and go for style points the way Iguodala did here (attempting a windmill jam) you better finish.

The original A.I. was half a foot shorter than Iguodala, but it's hard to imagine he'd blow this fast break.

Where's T.J. Keyshawn, CC and the rest for a "Come On, Man!" when you need them?

No. 4: Blake Griffin, December 1, 2010

7 of 10

Not trying to hate on Griffin.

But it doesn't even look like he was trying to dunk here.

He appears to be heaving the ball into the hoop from three feet away. Don't be afraid of the rim BG!.

No. 3: Blake Griffin, January 14, 2011

8 of 10

Those rookies never learn!

Third time in two months the superstar can't finish the play.

And since BG is only a 61% free throw shooter, hurdling himself towards the rim to try and draw a foul isn't the greatest strategy.

No. 2: Amare Stoudemire, December 30, 2010

9 of 10

Stoudemire is by far the best player to be missed-dunk-offender thus far in 2010.

That SHOULD land him the top spot for this borderline criminal miss.

But since he tossed in 30 points that night, we'll spare him the top spot.

Still, there's no one near him! All the Magic players around him even gave up on the play!

Is that goal regulation size or what!?

No. 1: Glen Davis, February 13, 2011

10 of 10

Just hilarious.

First, he looks like he's running in slow motion to the rim.

But the best part is his non-finish.

Check out the crow-hop he does before attempting the dunk, outdone only by the delicate way he tries to place the ball in the hoop.

What would teammate and fellow former LSU Tiger Shaq say about this sham-jam.
