NBA Trade Rumors: Top 10 Packages Sixers Could Get for Andre Iguodala
NBA trade rumors have swirled around Andre Iguodala for some time now, and if the Sixers were to move their star player, there are plenty of options that could be intriguing for Philadelphia.
With the Sixers playing well, a trade might be less likely, but if Philadelphia wanted to move him, there would be a bunch of teams lining up to bid for Iguodala's services. With that in mind, here are the 10 best packages the Sixers could get.
Which option do you think is the best for Philadelphia when it comes to moving Iguodala? Leave it in the comments.
No. 10: New York Knicks
1 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph
New York Gets: Andre Iguodala
It's been reported in the past that the Knicks would be interested in Iguodala if they miss out on Carmelo Anthony.
So say Anthony ends up somewhere else. The Knicks could use a wing, and Iguodala would be a nice option in that New York offense. The Sixers would get an expiring contract and a guy with some potential in Randolph.
The one thing messing this deal up is the fact that these teams are division rivals.
No. 9: Portland Trail Blazers
2 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: Joel Pryzbilla, Rudy Fernandez and Andre Miller
Portland Gets: Andre Iguodala and Spencer Hawes
This is an intriguing deal that you'd at least have to think about.
With Pryzbilla coming off of the books at the end of the year, none of the deals the Sixers are getting are over two years long . Portland would get a scorer who could help the ease of a declining Brandon Roy, who will never be the same after his knees betrayed him.
Miller is the real sticking point to this deal. He has a poor contract and would cause some issues with the development of Jrue Holiday.
No. 8: Golden State Warriors
3 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: Vladimir Radmanovic, Dan Gadzuric and a draft pick
Golden State Gets: Andre Iguodala
According to some rumors, the Warriors have had Iguodala on their radar.
While Sixers fans would love to get their hands on Monta Ellis or Stephen Curry, I don't see Golden State moving either of those guys. What would work though, would be getting two big expiring contracts and a draft pick from the Warriors.
It would clear over $14 million and give a rebuilding piece such as a young player out of the draft. The Sixers could rebuild, and Golden State could run out Ellis, Curry and Iguodala on a nightly basis.
No. 7: Oklahoma City Thunder
4 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: James Harden and Nenad Kristic
Oklahoma City Gets: Andre Iguodala
James Harden is a nice player, but he hasn't panned out like the Thunder imagined. And Andre Iguodala could be a nice upgrade.
Throwing in Kristic as an expiring contract and someone the Sixers can use to bolster the middle would be a nice option. The one drawback is that Oklahoma City is also weak when it comes to big men, so Morris Peterson's contract could be subbed in to make salaries match.
Think about how good the Thunder would be with this trade, and think about how the Sixers could rebuild with Harden on the roster. It is an intriguing situation to ponder.
No. 6: Memphis Grizzlies
5 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: O.J. Mayo, Hasheem Thabeet and DeMarre Carroll
Memphis Gets: Andre Iguodala
This is a deal that has been floating around for some time whenever Iguodala's name comes up.
Mayo is a guy that Memphis has been looking to get rid of, and the Grizzlies would love to get rid of Thabeet, who has been a huge bust for the the team. With Memphis having no leverage, the Grizzlies would throw in an expiring contract to sweeten the deal for the Sixers.
It would certainly be a buy-low option for the Sixers with plenty of upside.
No. 5: Houston Rockets
6 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: Shane Battier, Jared Jeffries and a draft pick
Houston Gets: Andre Iguodala and Thaddeus Young
The Sixers could go into full-on rebuilding mode with this deal.
Philadelphia would get two expiring contracts and one of Houston's many draft picks to help bring some talent in there, and the Rockets would get the wing they're looking for. There were some whispers about Houston being on the fray of the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes, and Iguodala would be a nice fallback option.
This deal would help both sides out.
No. 4: Los Angeles Clippers
7 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: Chris Kaman and a first round pick
Los Angeles Gets: Andre Iguodala and a first round pick
Chris Kaman is a guy that has been on the block at times, and he could be shipped out of town.
The Clippers could use a good wing to pair with Eric Gordon, and Iguodala in that lineup could take some pressure off of Blake Griffin. Philadelphia would get a solid center in Kaman, who has a much more favorable contract than Iguodala.
Swapping the first round picks is just something to sweeten the pot for the Sixers, who would get a guy with some injury issues in Kaman.
No. 3: Indiana Pacers
8 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: Mike Dunleavy, Jeff Foster and a first round pick
Indiana Gets: Andre Iguodala and Spencer Hawes
The Pacers have said they were looking to make a splash at the deadline, and Andre Iguodala would certainly qualify.
Indiana would pair Danny Granger with another legitimate scorer to take some pressure off of him on the offensive end. The Sixers, on the other hand, get a bunch of expiring contracts and a first round pick that could be a big time pick for Philadelphia.
It would immediately make the Sixers players in free agency and in position for a pretty nice draft pick in the summer.
No. 2: Charlotte Bobcats
9 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: Gerald Wallace and Nazr Mohammed
Charlotte Gets: Andre Iguodala and Jason Kapono
Gerald Wallace is a guy that has been rumored to be on the trading block for a while.
Sending him to the Sixers would be a nice addition for Philadelphia, while bringing Iguodala to Charlotte would move Stephen Jackson to the small forward position and give the Bobcats a fresh look in their lineup.
The other pieces are both expiring contracts to make salaries match and balance things out.
No. 1: Dallas Mavericks
10 of 10
Philadelphia Gets: Caron Butler, Ian Mahinmi and Dominique Jones
Dallas Gets: Andre Iguodala and Spencer Hawes
Dallas desperately needs a wing after losing Butler to a season-ending injury.
However, Butler has a massive expiring contract and would be immediately valuable to the Sixers as a salary dump used to target free agents over the next couple of years. Throw in some side pieces, and you've got yourself an intriguing offer.
The Mavericks may come calling near the deadline to see if Iguodala is available.
